Commenting on Paul's sad, repetitive pattern of continously trying to get on Sid's case is not "taking the bait."

Maybe since you've been gone a lot, you missed a bunch of the times he's done it.

If he had only done it a few times, it wouldn't garner a response from me or many others, but it's been like a record skip.

It's just about all he's posted about in the last several months.

Search back through his posts if you don't believe me... the evidence is there.

They didn't have to, the Mustang GT looked good from day 1.

How have the mustangs done at LeMans?

Pretty sure Ford quit running after the handed Ferrari and everybody else their asses with the GT40 a few years in a row.

How many Mustangs have ever been entered at Le Mans, probably not many.

Why did you ship your 911 overseas? Did you sell it or something?

How many times have you asked this? Gee, you forgot to ask if it was green this time.

Better try to learn a new trick, pony...

It was a '76, right?

definitely - the 911 went downhill after '71

the wonderful road racing shift pattern and light touch of the 911 tranny was replaced by the clunky & dog-legged 915

and the nice high compression motor was eliminated for that horrid lo-po 2.4L

I took a look at the "Rod and "Truck" :) article today...

Impressive! Especially for 40K.

Gotta say, the only thing that really bothers me on the newer Mustang's, is the wheel well. You could hide an Elephant in there. I was on the freeway today when a newer on merged and it was lowered. Yes to much, but they look so much better. It gets worse with the lower end models and the thinner tires.

I agree...lots of spring kits & other stuff to drop 'em. Not that costly...but when I look under mine and view the actual ground clearance? I'm going to stay stock...dragging up driveways just isn't my bag these days.

Read that R&T piece again...see how "high" the Boss 302 looks, lots of air in the wheel wells? Then remember it turned over 1 G on the skidpad, and turned some pretty darned quick laps of Laguna Seca....In actuallity, they are pretty low..they just don't look it.

Good luck finding one for sticker...Additional dealer markups abound. Especially on the Laguna Seca versions. Altho some are being sold at sticker, they are being sold to "special" customers...it's limited dealership numbers that will get the Laguna Seca cars.

Now, after looking at my car for four months I can finally relate to Paul and his passion for the Mustang.

In a nutshell the car feels very tight, holds the road very well, and has huge amounts of power available. First car I have had where it seems to have more than you need :D. Hitting the throttle full open when at about 3000 and up to 6000 rpm in 3rd gear, the get up and go factor is hard to beat.

I am almost sure if you drive a GT you would like one - cheap interior and all.

pwd72s 04-08-2011 05:19 PM

Welcome aboard, Reg...:D They are a nice surprise when behind the wheel, aren't they?

Reg 04-08-2011 05:31 PM

It does feel bigger up front after coming from a 911 and MR2 but the sound of that engine in front of you and the power pushing you along is something everyone driving an underpowered car should experience. I'll post some pictures soon.
