Porsche Boxster + vintage Volkswagen Bug = Bugster — Autoblog
What do you get when a '73 beetle humps a boxster?

That is pretty cool. It would be a neat toy.

Kinda like Paul Newman's V-8 powered Bug that he had built in the '70's.

This brings back fond memories. In 1968 a guy I knew named Ted Tull had a POS 57 Beetle with a 912 engine, transmission, and IRS. It was the 60s equivalent of this car I guess. He put the engine in his 912 for the summer and switched it to his beetle beater for winter.

that is a great idea. I knew a couple of guys who would swap the stock motor in to get it smogged, then put the 11 second motor in it to drive it. One guy had an old Super, installed a cage and did some bracing front and back with square, hollow tubiing that I thought was larger than it needed to be. Sort of took up a lot of trunk, but there was no back seat so you had plenty of room for storage still. Some sort of Porsche front brakes, that thing was like big go cart.
