Another reason not to go to Wally World

Maryland man glued to Wal-Mart toilet seat
By Leigh Remizowski, CNN
April 6, 2011 8:52 p.m. EDT
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Apparent random victim had to be hospitalized
Wal-Mart incident appeared to be April Fools' joke
(CNN) -- Police in Maryland are on the hunt for the perpetrator of what appears to be an April Fools' prank that left a man glued to a toilet at a Wal-Mart store.
If caught, the jokester who doused the seat with glue at the Elkton Wal-Mart on March 31 could face second-degree assault charges, said Lt. Matthew Donnelly of the Elkton Police Department.
Police, along with the Singerly Fire Company and the Cecil County Paramedics, were called to the scene at about 7 p.m.
There, they found the 48-year-old victim, who called for help after realizing the sticky situation he was in when he tried -- and failed -- to stand up and leave the superstore's restroom, Donnelly said.
It took responders 15 minutes to remove the victim from the stall, but they were unable to disconnect the toilet seat from his body, Donnelly said.
Instead, the victim was taken to Union Hospital of Cecil County, where the seat was detached. He left with only minor injuries to his buttocks, Donnelly said.
Police do not suspect that the victim was specifically targeted, but that the incident was a random prank, Donnelly said. They have not received reports of glue-laden toilet seats since.

A paper ass gasket would have prevented this from happening, or at least wiping the seat first. Either of these two methods would have alerted him to the glue on the seat. He must have been in a rush if ya know what I mean.

I think this story is the April fools joke.
Guess that part should have been in green. You're taking this place way too seriously.

Have you ever done an image search on Walmart. This is what you find.

Wipe down the seat? Why would one even consider using the toilet in a Walmart?

In terms of hierarchy of toilet sitting avoidance:

- Gas stations (any)
- Popeyes
- Walmart

+1 this was one of my first thoughts too, although "...when you gotta', you gotta'..." If there's no other option and it was an emergency I suppose.

Joke:

Q) How do you know when you're in the ghetto?
A) You're within walking distance of a Popeyes.

A little discipline is required here, that's all. It's probably just a part of the overall shopping experience for this guy. Kinda like stopping for a latte at the Nordstrom cafe for some gals.

Wouldn't you feel the wet glue when you sit down? You wouldn't know it's glue, but it's still an unknown fluid! Ewwww.

If he did, why didn't he get up and wipe down right away?

Anyway; I hate to think of this logically, but what kind of glue can you put on a seat that wont dry in the open air but will bond skin that quickly? Were talking about a bond that can't be pulled away that happens in a matter of minutes. But also happened after the 'glue' had been exposed to the air for some time.

It doesn't add up...
I don't buy it either. I'm pretty sure if you sat on wet glue you'd know it.

Direct ripoff from a Larry-the-cable-guy skit. In his story, it happened in Home Depot.

I expect there will be more to the story, like he did it himself and will now get a lawyer to take Walmart to the outhouse.

Yep... Surveillance video will show no one else was near the rest room. Under questioning it will come out that he glued himself, then flushed the empty tubes of super glue before using his cell to call for help.

They don't sell brake cleaner or nail polish remover at Walmart anymore?
