Just had a telemarketer tell me "To get a Life."
Uh, yeah, right. A loser on the phone is telling me to get a life while she is trying to clean my ducts. You know where that was gonna go, huh?
![]() ![]() Actually, I was trying to give my information when she so rudely interrupted me. I think she took offense to my real name, Mr. Suc Mi Duk. What the hell happened to this so called "Do Not Call" thing? Tomorrow, I'm getting Magic Jack. |

Seems to me that would not be an effective sales tactic

What the hell happened to this so called "Do Not Call" thing?
It must not work anymore, or they found a way around it, because I get at least 10 calls a day . I simply will not pick up out of state #'s or #'s that come up as " private caller" Good on you Milt, I kept messing with one last year , and he came completely unraveled, and threatened to kill me. Made my day

Get an Ooma. It's an internet based telephone. Their basic service is free, but for $10/month you get their higher level service which includes checking all incoming calls against a national database of telemarketers. If one does get through you can log on and add them to the list. I was getting collection calls for someone with a name similar to mine. Not with Ooma!
There are other features included... free long distance, free second phone number, call waiting, internet based voicemail, three way calling, and voicemail to text.

Yuk, yuk. You need to try harder than that. That's as lame as Suc Mi Duk.
I just try to be as offensive as possible when it comes to an uninvited call. But the best one goes to my granddad. Guy calls late at night waking him up looking for "Joe." No Joe here. Guy calls back, so my granddad puts on a fake voice and tells the guy, "I'm so sorry to tell you that Joe died this afternoon and you should really call back in mourning." I'm sure it was lost on the fool. |

Ahemmmmm....report them for violating the law and follow up on it. When the agency...whoever the fuch they are doesn't follow up, call the douche bag that represents you and ask why they haven't followed up? Of course if the caller is out of state, the State can't help you. If you call the Feds, you will never get anyone who will admit that there is a law against it. So hang up and hide....
It will probably help when the black helicopters land in your front yard to take you away to discuss you anti american attitude when you bought that Jaguar. Welcome to your democracy.... Oh yeah....spam faxes at 4 am are exempt. MY response is to take five pieces of black paper, put them in your fax, tape them in a roll and then dial the response number. I did that for an hour....800 number. THEY actually called to complain....loved it. I burned thru 500 dollars of printer ink.....douche nozzles.....

I live in SOCAL and haven't had a telemarketer call in over seven years, since I ditched my AT&T landline and started using Vonage.

I get calls from the Red Cross, NRA, etc... and they are driving me crazy. We're going to get a blocker for the phone at some point...

Telemarketers were driving me nuts. Seriously, Vonage solved the problem, a llot cheaper and I don't have a single complaint.

I had a guy that kept calling the house trying to sell me vinyl siding, he was very persistent, even though I told him I was not interested in downgrading my house. So I gave in and set up a time for him to come out to the house and try and sell me. So about 8 am that sat morning he showed up as scheduled, to find me sitting on my front porch, drinking a cup of coffee, in front of my all brick house. I asked him if he was satisfied that I was not interested. Never heard from him again.

I've been getting calls to my business from a telemarketer. I've been trying to get them to stop for 2 years. About every 2 months they start calling again. Then I start callling them. They can't complain about my harrassment, because it is in response to their calls.

I don't pick up the phone if I don't recognize the caller id.
If I do slip and pick up a telemarketer call, I say "wait a minute I'll get him/her", set the phone down, and walk away. |

Rick, I had a siding salesman insist on making an appointment to come to my house for a free price quote. I set it up for a Saturday morning that I knew I would be at home doing yard work. When he arrived up he noticed my brick house. The softs, the garage door and some of the front porch had paint so I asked about that. I had wanted the full treatment. Then I told him that it it was great that they did the financing because I was going to declare bankruptcy at the end of the month. He just got up and said something rude about wasting his time. I told him I feel that way about every telemarketing call.

I once told a telemarketer "to get a life". Or better yet, get a real job. You couldn't handle working in fast food, so you became a telemarketer? He didn't like that and hung up on me.
A friend always starts talking to them in some made up language that makes absolutely no sense. Usually ends really quick. He also uses his made up language when he calls a corp and gets the computer asking a bunch of questions. After the second "I didn't quite understand that response" by the computer, he gets connected to a live person.
