My new "zombie crusher" Ride is home!
Just took delivery yesterday of this 73' Mercedes Benz Unimog DoKa. Needs very little work to be right back where it should be. Has a 5.7L diesel with an 8 speed tranny. This should keep the zombies at bay when the time comes!!

That'll come in handy during the NY winter. Using it as a grocery-getter?

Just out of curiosity: are the air horns stock? I can't imagine needing them to warn someone to get outta your way!

Very nice.
I see some potential zombie hand-holds, though. KT

20 inches of ground clearance at stock height at the differentials, right? Is yours the same as a 416 crew cab?
I love Unimogs, and that would be my favorite one. Very nice!

The clearance under the differentials is amazing. When I helped my friend drain the gear oil a 5 gallon bucket with a huge funnel easily fit underneath. Von - What tires are those?

Thanks guys, this one is legal to drive in all 50 states! It has about 20" of clearance at the bottom of the pumpkins because of the portal axles. The tires are 365R80x20. The air horns are aftermarket, and are very loud!! If you go to my web site you can see some of the other ones I have restored. This one is a keeper for me! I have a 250 HP turbo motor and a set of superfast ring and pinions going in it. Top speed will be about 80 mph. Which is not bad for 8k lb. truck that can climb a 60 degree up/down slope 38 degree side slope, and has a fording depth of 40".Plus it is easier to park than my Jeep Grand Cherokee!

Dude, that thing is so cool. It dwarfs the 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel Excursion I am in the process of buying in both size and coolness factor.
