Where can I find a high resolution photo of Steve McQueens backwards burnout?

The pic in Bullet where he's looking out the window...

If he's going backwards, why is the tire smoke going the same direction he is? Or better yet, out front?

I find it odd that the thread poster has not responded.

I provided him with what he wanted in about 2 minutes of his post but no reply.

Maybe he has a life. You know he posted something, then walked away from the computer for a few hours.

Since he posted at 11:33 PM, perhaps he was tired and went to bed and has decided to sleep this morning since it's only 5:50 AM in Omaha. The guy probably does have a life.

Many of us here on the forum used to have a life. Some of us are getting ours back while others, well...

A wee bit of Hollywood trickery involved in that scene. Trust me, the Mustang guys have analyzed every Mustang scene in Bullitt as much as the early 911 guys have analyzed the opening scenes of LeMans...every excruciating and now boring detail..from both movies!

Added smoke during the backing up...it has been mentioned on several websites. IIRC this is one of them, but I could be wrong, and not going to re-read every word here and on other sites. I just know that I read it, admitted by one who worked on the movie, that during filming, there wasn't the smoke desired during back-up since the car didn't have limited slip (you see that soon after the back-up scene)...so the smoke was added later.

BULLITT - from the First Mustang Club of Germany Editors personal website

(edit) I'd like for the Mustang haters here to note that I didn't start this thread..

Paul--thank you! I apologize for the late response. Today I woke up at 5:30 to my one year old daughter crying so I fed her and slept with her in a recliner until 7:30 (best dad feeling in the world!) Then fed her breakfast of peanut butter toast, banana, and kix. After that my wife and I took Isla to an Easter egg hunt (her first!). Then we went to our new house and moved some boxes in we had packed. We then came home to our old house we are trying to sell to put Isla down for a nap so I had to finish mowing the lawn, trim the bushes, water the plants, and pack more boxes. At about 4 pm I did get a little break but I took a nap instead of get online. After my nap I showered and we all went to my folks for Easter dinner since my brother is in town with his family. When I got home I had to pull my turkey out of the brine and butter it up and season it for the overnight smoking. We are heading to my wifes folks tomorrow after church for lunch and I offered to smoke a 12 lb turkey. So I'm finally ready to hit the sack so I grabbed my iPad to check my post! I had a busy day Paul! I did enjoy reading the other posts in response to yours I got a good chuckle! Time to baste the turkey before hitting the pillow.

I'm going to make a mural for my new garage with the pic Paul so thanks again!
