way off topic.......what music is is your...

just curious. being we all drive porsches and the age group is pretty wide, what type of music and who's your favorite?
my taste is pretty eclectic.
regularly listen to "pearl jam" and "they might be giants" but if i like it i'll listen to it. not a rap fan and REAL picky with country.

Rock n' Roll! The problem is? Not much decent R&R made past 1969. And a really weird tangent? Adam Nitti does great stuff on the guitar...and an even more weird tangent? A female C&W singer...with a soprano voice that can shiver your spine...well, mine anyway. Sarah Evans...ever heard her? Yes, I'll admit to being an old goat, with zero musical talent. But I do like to listen..

I am into mostly Jam bands.
Love to ride around with the targa top off cranking
out some dead or string cheese.

i like alot of the older (to me) stuff too. i basically discovered music one day in the late seventies when i heard the doors for the first time, from there it was talking heads, some janis, they might be giants came around in the early 80's and i still love their quirky musical genious.

OK, here's what's in my CD holder in my truck right now: J.J. Cale, Rolling Stones, Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Sinatra, REM, Bob Marley, Linkin Park, Roxy Music, Donovan, George Howard, Cat Stevens, and Stanley Clark. How's that for eclectic?

Of course, no music is EVER played in the 911. The flat-six band simply cannot be beaten. -- Curt

Springsteen...and much of Clapton's stuff....Thanks Ron. These are both exceptions to my not much good R&R since '69 thinking...

OK, I am suppose to be working on my car but I can't help but respond to this one since I am in the music biz...
Everything from Rolling Stones (Exile on Mainstreet one of top 10 all time albums) to Classical to Jazz to Guns 'n Roses. Recently I have really gotten into a lot of Techno/House in the last year or two, in addition to banks like Chemical Brothers, Moby etc.
Of course Led Zeppelin is playing as we speak (type?)...and very loudly I might add (Black Dog)
Later,

Well i usually crank up Britney or n'Sync...

No...actually i'm stuck with this weird homemade mix of Screaming Trees, Mark Lanagan, Doors, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Curve and some other goodies...but it doesn't last for long beacuse i can't hear it worth a dime with my "sporty" exhaust....

What's wrong with Britney and N'sync?

Seriously I hardly ever listen to music when driving the 911. That is if you wouldn't call the sound of the engine music

Otherwise my music taste is pretty much all over the place:

Metallica
Pantera
Elvis
Beatles
Red Hot Chilly Peppers
Eric Clapton
Bach
Bethoven
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
AC/DC
John Williams (Classical guitar)
etc. etc.

ok I'm 16, fav. music as follows:

AC/DC
Led Zeppelin
The Doors
Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
Black Sabbath
Roxy Music / Bryan Ferry
Metallica
David Bowie
Dire Straits
Deep Purple
Jimi Hendrix

Bands you probably won't have heard of (Australian):

Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels

And, unfortunately or not, I basically refuse to listen to anything else.

My musical tastes are pretty out there.

Here's a sample of my CD case.

Clutch (all of them)
Tool (all of them)
Zeppelin (1 through 4)
Pink Floyd (Meddle, The Wall, Division Bell, The machine, Symphonic)
Sevendust (Both of them)
Orange 9MM (I'll give a dollar to anyone who's heard of them before)
Simon and Garfunkel (yes...say what you want)
System of a Down (very wierd cats)
Alice and Chains (Dirt)
The Urge
The Deftones (Both of them)
Pantera (The gods of Rock )
Staind (Little too popular but still a good band)
Adam Nitti (Evidence...and I actually know this guy!)
Did I say Tool??!!!
Primus
Perfect Circle
Sausage
Faith No More
Danzig
............oh yeah...and Yanni....

Man, and I thought I was a minority with my weird tastes. Must be the air-cooled thing. My CDs include:
U2
Live
Aaron Copland
W. A. Mozart
Seal
Pearl Jam
Journey
Stone Temple Pilots
Creed
Little Feat
Limp Bizkit
Soundgarden
...but like a lot of you, these discs get more use in the truck than the Targa.

Being a DJ I have a very electic taste.

Depending on what MD is on the changer could be anything from

Rock & Roll (original fifties), some 60's, 70's soul, R&B, Dance, hip-hop, jazz (not traditional), soul, anything that get's me heart pumping and me foot tapping !

peace
