Anyone In Portland, OR May 16-18?
I'll be in Portland for a conference and available for drinks/dinner, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm staying at a hotel in downtown Portland.

What sort of food/drink are you looking for?
Wife is flying down to El Lay this weekend so we are south.

Portland
Hey Hugh,
You'll only be an hours drive to the historic Timberline Lodge at the top of Mt. Hood, or about an hours drive west will put you at the Pacific.

I'll be going up there the following week. Takes a LOT to get me to drive up to Portland, but Evren's wife Ruki will be there for some sort of hippie dippy international oil spill conference. Not sure which night, but we'll be at least enjoying a dinner with her.
How did Ruki get the invitation? Beats me...perhaps it has something to do with one of her degrees from MIT? Guess I'll find out more when we see her...

Thanks guys. I'll have a car, but I'll be at a conference during the days. Not looking for any food type in particular.

If you're dowtown, you might check out the casual food sold at a place called The Rialto...good stuff. It's more of a downtown yuppie bar than a pool hall, but they do have nice gold crown 9' tables.
When my honory nephew & I were there, checking out the tables for an upcoming tournament, the players & patrons were the young executive & secretary "downtown crowd". Fern bar decor mixed with pool tables. Matt & I didn't stay there long after eating...nobody there could match up with him as a player. No money games, in other words...

I will be in the Vancouver area either Monday or Tuesday morning. I usually drive down really early in the morning to miss rush hour traffic, and normally can head back up North in the early afternoon to beat the traffic home.
If you're busy during the day it may not work, but I might be able to stick around for evening festivities. |

I'm gonna call up the Rogue and try and see about reserving a table for today, Monday at 4.30 PM. I'll reserve it under the name "Pelican"
I can get off early today, so I'll get there about 4.15, 4.20 or so and make sure the coast is clear, ha ha. Josh, I hope this makes you happy, dark-brau meister Hugh, looking forward to seeing you Here's the address: 1339 NW Flanders Street, Portland, 97209 503-222-5910. See you all there this afternoon!
