Montrose is a well-kept secret. So is Monrovia. Both quintessential small California towns that have defied time.

I used to live about 2 blocks from where those pics were taken. Cute area, quiet, small-town, has hardly changed since we left 10 years ago. Kind of boring, I wouldn't move back, but we came there from West Hollywood and sure loved it at the time. Getting the flyer from the local Klu Klux Klan chapter was a touch odd.

i rode for the Montrose bike club way back in the mid to late 80s. My sister now lives a few blocks from there. oh, believe me, its changed but not as much as many of the other places in LA. There are many more people that are not locals. The traffic is getting bad. big expensive restaurants are opening up. Still beats going to the west side, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Lets keep it a secret for a little longer.

John, many Koreans have moved in the area in the past 10 years driving the scores up in the schools. good for the school if you ask me.

Love the '57 'Vette. Every iconic car has a "purity of line" time...

When I was there, it was Armenians moving in, well into Glendale anyway (I was 1.5 blocks south of Honolulu, thus in Glendale). But last time I visited, my friend (lives in the neighborhood still) showed me all the Korean restaurants that had appeared.

Armenians are all over Glendale and spilling over to Burbank. Property value are still rock solid in these places.

There are some damn good tofo houses up there. A friend married a Korean girl, and we had to deal with the traffic going to K town. Traffic is the reason we don't go out that way any more.
