The Japanese

Seriously, WTF is the matter with these people?

Although I must admit, it is kinda awesome.

It's like a psychotic version of Capture the Flag meets King of the Hill

Hmmm, just might catch on here in the US.

I like the guy standing with the yellow flag. Was he gonna call a foul? I saw at minimum a holding penalty.

Seemed like lots of action but also lots of laughter in the back ground.

I certainly beats sitting around watching TV and then at some point venturing out to buy McDonald's (via the drive through of course )

I've always admired them. Most of them are hard working and loyal.

Did you know that racially they are the same as the Chinese?

This guy is supposedly the equivalent of a rockstar/movie star/wrestler in Japan.

Or at least, that's what my American friend living there tells me..

When I was there back in the mid-80s, I met a guy who had been living in Tokyo 13 years at the time, and was still seeing stuff that surprised and shocked him.

Get ahold of the movies Battle Royale, Tetsuo, the Iron Man, Cutie Honey and Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend, and your mind will be blown.

To an unbiased observer it wouldn't look any dumber than American football.

+1

add anything by Takashi Miike to the list. Not for those with a weak stomach.

Don't forget the big-johnson festivals, used schoolgirl panty and beer vending machines, tokyo masoleum hotels for businessmen, and more.

They pick elements of other cultures and take it to an extreme sometimes. In Kyoto, it was suprising to find exquisite french boulangeries tucked away in dark concrete corners.

Despite the formal brick wall Tokugawa facade, Japan is a complex society.
