How about making up a fake parking ticket (really good replica) that has your address as the place to send the money?

I just took this today. I thought the point of double parking is to do it before another car is in the spot next to you...

Those new battery powered SawZ-Alls are great things to carry in your trunk.

After plodding to the end of this stupid thread it occurs to me MAYBE some inconsiderate biker who should be parking in the assigned motorcycle spots elsewhere in the lot was there before you. The car driver pulled in to the remaining 1/2 spot and was then over the line.
I think you should lay in wait and confront him/her to confirm and have it out if I'm wrong. Then you can shoot them for poor parking if they are guilty.

Why would you think that when I've posted subsequent photos of his doing the same? I've also seen him do it again since my last post on him. I don't bother taking photos of it anymore. Before midday bikes usually do park in the special motorcycle space. But because of the position of the sun after about 3pm, those spots farther out, but then in the shade, become prime real estate. I don't expect you to understand if you haven't lived in the desert in summertime, but it's stupid hot in direct sunlight in the summer here. Your comment about shooting someone is beyond stupid.

RWebb 09-15-2011 12:46 PM

ask the owners to put up PV solar panels that will also shade bikes & cars

Hey, it's no skin off my nose. I ride the bike 90% of the time and I can park it anywhere, regardless of how mullet man parks his cage. He ain't taking my parking space from me. I kind of prefer to leave him be so he can continue to piss off other cagers who are more likely to leave him nasty notes or even key his car. I dare say, when I drive the 993, I have the nicest car there and I'd never think of taking two spots, even if the place were empty on a cloudy day.

pics of mullet man with his cage?

nice project Byron

Rick Lee 09-15-2011 08:05 PM

I'm gonna try to get a photo of mullet man at the gym, but that'll be tricky. Picture this. He wears cargo-like pants that look like football pants with the pads removed, always a football jersey, lots of tats on the arms, very good shape and short hair with just a few inches of mullet in very thin strands. I don't think I've ever seen another like it. He has to be at least 40. He looks pretty tough too. I think most people see him coming and figure he's a real gym rat and then they see that mullet in back and just laugh. To see a 40 yr. old think he has a hot car that most teenagers wouldn't be real proud of is kind of weird.

RWebb 09-15-2011 08:36 PM

do you have a track cam you could conceal and then go up and talk to him?

Rick Lee 09-15-2011 08:40 PM

I can use my iPhone for tunes instead of my iPod sometime and I still have the iPhone 3, so no flash with the camera. I might be able to sneak one. It will be worth the wait, I assure you.

I don't see the point. I think this thread was started simply to point out that this guy was an idiot, not to to say that the OP wanted to be the parking police.

If someone parks like an idiot so be it. If a person is that ignorant, what possible positive outcome would come from confronting him?

weeby is the one who came up with that bright idea.

1990C4S, yours was a rhetorical question, right? I mean, really... are you not familiar with the doofusness of the weeby?

Rick, if you get a pic of the mulletized d-bag, send it to me privately and I'll use it to make a demotivational poster... that's the way it should debut here. I'm already getting ideas.

Sample demotivational poster:

Rick, he might respond well if you go up to him, tell him you are a film scout & hand him a biz card (put Hugh's phone # on it), then ask if you can take just a couple of pics to send back to "the studio."

Sounds like he is even more vain than burpo_schmoe.

Rick Lee 09-17-2011 11:22 AM

Honestly, I don't see Mullet Man that often. But I will try to get a photo next time. Maybe I can sneak one in the locker room for N!.

That's me on the left. I always try and find a curb-side spot, and park as close to the curb as possible. Morons like this are the reason why.

The person who needs couch time with a shrink is anyone who thinks someone here said this was the biggest issue in their life.

And is ten pages into the thread.... :)

It's called 'free time'. We are 'free' to use (or waste) it as we see fit.

When I went to the gym yesterday, there was not a single locker in use in this section of the locker room. Mine is the black padlock in the middle. When I came back, two idiots had parked on each side of my locker and of course, they both came back while I was changing and it was pretty cramped. Why do people do this? Why do men want to be next to some other sweaty man in the locker room? Literally hundreds of free lockers far away from me and they pick mine.

well.... not to defend these arseholes.... however, you did pick the locker right on the middle, which would put you right in the action. just sayin'.

All:

I agree that is's quite annoying when 1) someone takes up more than once space with their vehicle, and 2) someone parks right next to you when there is no need to do so.

This would be remedied if parking spaces were bigger.

Right?

Cheers,

Paul.

Parking spaces are plenty big here. They're much smaller in Europe. I parked against a curb at the grocery store tonight around 8pm (totally empty lot) and a minivan parked right next to me. No biggie, since the spaces are so big, he couldn't have hit my car if his passenger had opened his door as far as it would go. But why park right next to someone else in an empty lot? I don't get that.

Rick V 10-02-2011 03:32 AM

Yesterday I swung by the local grocery store and was in the 911 so I parked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the cheap seats. (I like to walk anyway so it works) and when I came out there was some jack wipe that was parked right next to me. There were at least 100 other open spaces out where I parked. There was also some butt head with an old Ford truck (mid 80's vintage) that was parked close to the store who had taken 4 spaces. WTF is wrong with people? I know they all suck!!
