Have a little fun......

Go to a pay phone (if you can find one) and call in a stolen car report with description and tag number. Then sit back and watch the fun!

The first being "look at that douche" of course... (Hey, I'm no better than the rest of you)

I once parked my car like that. But even worse. It wasn't even in a row of spots. It was in the freakin' middle of an aisle. I only realized it when I heard my license plate paged overhead.

I was post-call during residency. Meaning I had arrived at the hospital the day (27 hrs?) before. It had been snowing and the parking lot hadn't been plowed. So I parked my car in line with the rest of the handful of cars in the lot. Fast forward 24+ hours. Now the snow had all melted, all other cars I had originally parked next to had since left, and my remaining car was no longer in any space or even close to it. :D

Maybe the guy in the OP couldn't see the lines because he parked there right after a flash snow storm. I know they have flash floods in Phoenix. :D

Rick Lee 08-17-2011 05:05 PM

Looks like we have a new, bigger bag o'douche. There were plenty of more shaded spots, but this guy had to take two, even though his car was as dinged and dented as the Mitsubishi. What makes these people tick?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1313629425.jpg

Thom, this is for you. I was at the grocery store a few minutes ago.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1313629453.jpg

I wouldn't do this in KA, but it's not legal or customary there. It's totally cool here.

Rick Lee 08-17-2011 05:10 PM

I was a tad over the line here, but I knew everyone in the parking lot, so they were cool with it.

One of the girls at work was almost parked in by someone who had simply stopped, rather than actually "parked", their car.
After 15 minutes of edging back and forth to get out, she left a note along the lines of "Please take more care when parking"

On the windscreen.

In lipstick.

I would have left the message written in motor oil. :D

Two spaces?

Weak sauce!

If you aren't taking at least three spaces, you aren't trying hard enough!

AZ is a BEEEEEEG state.....I was in Havasu just getting off the lake withthe twin supercharged 502 powered monohull.....the heat from the lake was the least of our issues.....we went to the air conditioned bar with da bimbos.

My GMC Yukon XL told me it was that hot. GMC stuff is made in.......ummmmm China? PARF material......

Anyways whatz good for GMC is good for AZ......

Gas in AZ was $3.27/gal......CA 3.80+....hmmmmmm, transportation costs? Who's getting screwed?

AZ sucks to live 24/7.....but they got cheap gas....

sc_rufctr 08-18-2011 01:38 AM

There are lots of people like this... Let it go.
No matter what you do they'll still do it or someone else will.

Why let any of this negative stuff occupy room in your head?

afterburn 549 08-18-2011 06:28 AM

I think i know why you guys have NO tolerance for things..its the heat

Rick Lee 08-18-2011 06:40 AM

I don't know what that means. But I thought it was a d'bag move to take up two parking spaces when I lived in other states too and that doesn't change when the summer ends here.

sammyg2 08-18-2011 07:04 AM

Arizona: 18 cents per gallon gas tax.

California: 35.3 cents gas tax, plus up to 9.75% sales tax on top of that.
A 2 cents per gallon state UST fee is also included.

Add to that the special boutique CARB gas specifications in California, and it's a wonder arizona gas isn't even cheaper.

The Mitsubishi d'bag was up to his old tricks again yesterday, but the second spot he took was the one in front ot the donation bin, so not really encroaching on anyone else. Still, his car is a POS and he's a bag o'douche.

Superman 08-24-2011 03:16 PM

Once upon a time there was this Honda taking up four spaces like the truck, only right in the CENTER of the X. I put a note under the wiper saying I would key the car if I saw it parked that way again. No, I wouldn't key the car but it gave the asshat something else to think about.

Rick, you need more stuff to fret over.

;)

sammyg2 08-24-2011 03:56 PM

not sure how this applies but it's kinda on topic.
no offense meant to any person real or ficticious, living or dead

Well, I got to see the Mitsubishi d'bag in person today, getting into his car. I recognized him from the gym and he's a lot older than someone I'd expect to behave that way with that car. He's probably my age (40), a serious weightlifter and has the most ridiculous mullet I've ever seen. If he weren't in such great shape, he'd be a candidate for those "People of Wal-Mart" email chains. He was parked correctly today, so I saw no need to talk with him. But now I know, so I will be tempted to approach him in the gym if he parks like a d'bag again to the detriment of others. In fact, I'm tempted to cross out "parking" on that card and write in "mullet." Definitely one of those guys everyone talks about behind his back.

Somebody parked like that next to my BIL, so he just smashed their window.

Rick Lee 08-29-2011 08:29 PM

Took this one at a Safeway in Colorado Springs this morning. Didn't really catch my eye. But how many Subaru Brats do you see anymore?

The Range Rover got a little note behind his wiper, asking him if the freshly painted lines were not white enough for him, and that he needs to learn how to park...

is it discrimination to put a note on the LAN Drover and not the Benz?

Be honest Rick - I wager the reason you do this is because it's so freaking hot the asphalt parking surface will gave way under your kickstand and the bike will be on it's side when you return with your carton of Marlboro's and 9mm ammo. :D

Rick Lee 08-30-2011 12:34 PM

Yes, I've said in this thread that I do it because of the heat. But again, it's legal and customary here. Oh, I don't smoke anymore and 9mm is for pussies. Flame away.

RWebb 08-30-2011 12:51 PM

9mm is for people with a G-50

nynor 08-30-2011 01:17 PM

9mm... i had a discussion with a former new orleans police officer about that.

I had only a small piece of paper. And I noticed the Benz a bit later or I would have written him a loveletter too..

Rick Lee 09-04-2011 06:10 PM

A new contender showed up today, didn't park in the shade.
