Is Google really calling me?

Each week or so I get a recorded message about posting details about my "business." Says Google needs it. I've been trying to cleanse the Net of my name for a couple of years. Not much response.

The State of CA Contractors Board will keep data on me forever even though my license is inactive. If I let it go, they want people to know that too. So it's hard to disappear and I'm sure that's a source for mining my phone #.

So, the recorded message says press 2 if I want to be removed. That does nothing, they call again. They can claim they have a "business" relationship with me and be exempt from the DNC list. That much I know is true.

This really can't be Google. But I'm about ready to Yahooooooooo!

I got a recorded message here at work that just instantly started about how Google wants to do business with us. I just hang up. If they really wanted to do business with us a human will have to call or send a non spam email.

I really can't see google using telemarketing, especially a recording. They've made their fame on understanding what people want and how they think. Telemarketing is the opposite of that.

My thoughts exactly. Heck they already know everything about us, if they want us a business partner they know how to reach us.

They want to make business listings on every single business in the US to support their "maps" and "places". They will make a listing with their own info, but they want to speak to the business to authenticate and verify.

I think I got snookered.

Got today's call. Asks if I'm the owner and press 1. The recording says enjoy the music while being connected to a "live" operator. Next, it hangs up on me. Well, I did press 1 to "verify" my business, so I guess they got me.

I'm not sure I have the time, resources or the energy to fight Google. I guess they just helped me decide to disconnect my long time phone no.

The thing is, the city I live in has an aggressive investigation unit tracking down businesses so they can get the license fee, about $180 for an individual/yr. And I've told the I*R*S and SS that I retired. Don't need my name popping up on any casual search.

So, thanks, ass hole Google. I switched my default search. Fvk Google.

What really derogatory remarks can I make about suck Google and where?
2 calls just this week. No way to opt out. No way to connect to a live voice. Going on for months now.

Google is the scourge of the Earth. Makes Facebook look like a saint.

The stuff on search engines dissing google is amateurish and laden with obscenities.

So, I'll start here. Google blows. You can't get their no. by reverse calling. They nor any other engine list sites to stop this calling. Maybe their crawlers will pick up on this:

Google, you suck, blow and just can't be stopped. I wish I could add tags at this point, but this isn't the original thread post.

Nevertheless, in vain, Tags: Google sucks, blows, "stop calling me" , harass, harassment, unwanted, listed, information, business, cease, stop, calling.

And lastly, did I mention, "Google sucks."

Guy I work with loves Google and I am about the opposite. He does everything on their servers, email, calendar, shares all his documents on their site and so on. Tried to talk with him about them becoming a big ugly monster and he just does not see it...

I still use google but not as much as years before...

Google the engine is fantastic, or was. Some don't like the changes made awhile back. Google the company is something else altogether. I didn't know a lot about Google until I started looking in earnest about getting off their call list even though I have been listed on the national DNCL from the onset.

Now I know what an oppressive giant these people are. Maybe the next sit in will be in Palo Alto. Yahoo ain't dead yet.
