Man wakes up from surgery, sans wee-wee...

OMFG....

Quote:
Phillip Seaton lawsuit: Dr. John Patterson amputated my penis instead of giving me a circumcision.

Jury selection is set to begin on Thursday in a lawsuit filed by a Kentucky man who says a surgeon amputated his penis instead of circumcising him.

Phillip Seaton, of Waddy, and his wife, Deborah, filed a suit against Dr. John Patterson of Louisville, claiming that the doctor unnecessarily removed his penis during a 2007 surgery.

Dr. Patterson said it was necessary to remove the penis because he found cancer in the organ.

Sixty-something year old Seaton claims the doctor never told him that he found cancer during the October 19, 2007 procedure and if he did, he should have given him the opportunity to get a second opinion. He said he went in for a simple circumcision but the doctor removed everything.

Shelby County Circuit Court Judge Charles Hickman has asked both sides to refrain from making public statements surrounding the case; however, the Seaton’s attorney, Kevin George, said Dr. Patterson post-surgical notes show the doctor detected cancer. George says the situation was not an emergency and the surgery “didn’t have to happen that way.”

Dr. Patterson’s attorney, Clay Robinson, said his client had permission from Seaton before the surgery to perform any medical procedure deemed necessary. Robinson said his client “had no reasonable option” but to remove the cancer.

The Seaton’s, who also sued Jewish Hospital, where the surgery took place and settled for an undisclosed amount, are seeking unspecified damages for “loss of service, love and affection

I guess the peculiar tradition of circumcision has its pros and cons. On one hand it can accidentally reveal a cancer diagnose, on the other hand you can wake up missing your pissing without the chance of a second opinion.

Why the heck does a 60 year old guy need a circumcision for anyway?

Or a penis for that matter? By that age you're too old to use it!

In the Dutch article i read it said they were going to circumcise him because of the cancer, but ended up chopping off more because ther was more cancer.

Now i understand they had to chop it off. And i'm sure he understands it had to come off.
But.... I'm equally sure he might have wanted to have at least 1 more shag and/or a wank before the chop.

Not being able to say good bye is just brutal. There's no closure.

Kind of depends. You'd probably have to ask the guys wife unless you could find pics. Personally, I'm not that interested assuming the article isn't about me.

Everyone complaining about needing tort reform and outrageous settlements should consider this case...

The doctor exercised piss poor judgment. He could at least have offered the man a strap-on penis neatly wrapped in a gift box.

Mrs Seaton, when asked how she felt about the unexpected removal of her husbands penis, had this to say:

"No biggie."

Damn, I'm 69 and although I'm not the young buck I used to be, I still use mine for what it was intended for. I'd be more than upset if I didnt' have a chance for a second opinion/ explore alternatives/ get a third, fourth, etc., etc. opinion.

My first reaction from reading that article was, The doc should have let the greedy bastage die from the cancer.
This is all about a low-life trying to hit the civil court lottery and a low-life lawyer helping him do it. No ethics or morals involved.

Why anyone would want to be a doctor is beyond me, no matter what they do they have a giant target on their backs.
Shame on him for trying to save someone's life!
