Red-beard! Here is the debut mess!

It is supposed to be a form of pie. It looks ugly but I must say it was delicious.
Thanks for getting me started!

I improvised a basic recipe and used unions and anchovy. Sounds perhaps strange but it was very good.

Yeah, more details, what's it called, what was in it. It looks like it's smothered in cheese. It's hard to go wrong with something that's smothered in cheese.

Why anchovy and not herring, that must have been salty!

according to wikipedia...

Quiche (English pronunciation: /ˈkiːʃ/; keesh) is a savory, open-faced pie of vegetables, cheese, or meat in custard, baked in a pastry crust.

usually looks like a small pie made with cheese and egg with "stuff" in it. Or at least, that's my experience with quiche.

Generally an egg-cream mixture baked in a pie crust. Many times there are other items, crumpled bacon, onions, spinach, etc, added to the mixture. It then has cheese on top

Here is a link to a recipe

To make it easy, buy frozen crusts.

Hehe, thanks guys!

I understand the anchovy part may sound crazy but oddly enough the combination with the rest of the ingredients made it very nice. I had 5 rather big unions in there!

Admit it, you guys canīt wait for my next mystery plate!

I'll drive home from a long day at the gun range and eat quiche any day. The baby boomers had it wrong. I make a purple potato/sweet potato quiche with goat cheese and asiago that rules. Makes a great side dish for grilled sausages or a sirloin.
