Red-beard saves this Swedish cook!

This is a typical example why I think this forum is first rate, top of the line, créme de la créme. I post a picture of my sad 'cooking' and immediately receives tons of advice from you generous people.
James, red-beard, took this benevolence and warm hearted gestures to the next level and went on to send a copy of 'Joy of Cooking' all across the Atlantic to this durn for'ner! I am overwhelmed James.
Thank you sir!

You are now on your way to a happier palate...

Betty Crocker's book works well too.

Looks like English. Difficult enough though. Not least with the quirky measurements. Would be a lot easier with the SI-system. The relative amount of the ingredients might be a bit off to begin with.

No joke... cooking shouldn't require google's help to try and convert units from cups/quarts/ounces/whatever.

Hmm, wonder if there is a "The Joy of Fluffing" book that is next in line?

Enjoy and hope James sent you some info on Texas BBQ!

Totally agree and when I moved to Germany and then got married to a German woman one of the first things I taught her to cook was chili. She transformed it into one of the best dishes that I have ever had and it was an excellent winter food. Much better than the book (but she used it as a base) and I still miss whatever she did when she made it.

Then taught her how to do BBQ ribs and within a year the butcher shop we used in Berlin had people coming from all over town because they cut the ribs "American style for BBQ'ing" and were often sold out.

I have learned to deal with the standard british gravitational system of ft, lbf, s, and slugs. But that damn pound mass gets me all the time in thermodynamics.

SI just seems like cheating it is so easy.
