I would take a new Ford Taurus over any of the Jap stuff now on the market. Good size, strong engine (3.7 V6), well equipped, and good fuel mileage (22-24 in town, 28-30 on open road), etc. The Hondai Genesis coupe with the 3.8 V8 is about the only import from the far east that I would consider owning.

Nice work PARFing up a thread about a car. I'll roll with that...if this car is subsidised as you suggest, then I'm even more excited about it. I'll actually feel like I'm getting some value for my tax dollars

Very nice cars, I even like the styling. You gotta admire Cadillac for building a 556 HP WAGON with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Pretty much goes against the "design by beancounter" philosophy that yielded decades of crappy cars from GM. You just know there were some real enthusiasts within the organization pushing for that one. Give it a few years when they're $15k like the first generation CTS-V, then I'll be all over it.

When you stop and think about it, it's pretty sad that you can get a Cadillac CTS-V with a manual gearbox but not an M5.

It is sad for BMW. Good for GM / USA that someone pulled their head out of their backside and made something with appeal.

Before this thread, I didn't know the CTS-V came as a wagon. Very cool! I have some car lust for a CTS-V. Wagon? Maybe so! I also have some lust for the now not produced XLR. Good looking. Tons of power. Whats not to like?

Cars today are like candy land. There are so many really cool options that it is hard to choose.
