Going to NZ (the South Island, primarily to Queenstown) in January. We've been to the North Island and stayed in the Bay of Islands for a few weeks.
New Zealand is beautiful and it's much easier to emigrate there than to Australia. And they have no nasties- my wife calls it "the land of dumb fuzzy birds". But this is only one place on my very long list of places to go....there's South America (hopefully next) but Scandanavia, Eastern Europe, the Adriatic and Bosporus are on the list too. And lots of places in Asia. |

Living north of the border...
my wife and I enjoy coming to the US. The last three trips have been to NYC once and San Fran. twice. Perhaps this winter we will go to San Fran again or Maui for the first time. New Zealand and Aust. are too far to fly for us. Was born in the UK and enjoyed doing the Wainwrights coast to coast hike(193 miles) and did it in four stages. Pubs and b and bs are great there. Would like to drive the Boxster down to California but the wife does not have patience for that. Ireland is a great tourist spot. Always green, rains every second day. I must say it is nice to go to a country where English is spoken. There is so much to see in the US and US standard of service excellent, food is generally good or excellent.
Cheers, happy trails ![]() |
