Meanwhile my daily serves me very well and my SC is still a blast to drive. I don't envy anyone when I'm in either car.

Peter,

What stirs passion in you about that car? It looks like an Idaho potato to me. As for new cars not much stirs any passion in me. Some are nice but I'm not passionate about any. Today everything is wind tunnel and computer derived. Some of the classics I can think of a car for every occasion. When cars were built with passion and lust.

I know that's not what this thread is about sorry.

I sold my 69 z 28 for $8500.00. I needed the money to get my business up off the ground. 10 years later, the market went crazy, and who knows how much I cold have got for it. Oddly enough, the one I wish I would have kept the most, was my 74 transporter. I can only imagine what it would have morphed into by now.

I said any sort of passion. I started a thread about this car because I'm seriously considering buying one.
I've always wanted a Bentley. The build and the quality of the car is something I've always admired.

The thing is buying a car like this also makes a public statement that I'm not sure I really want to make.

I agree about modern cars being boring and uninspiring. Maybe I'll keep my heap(s) for a while longer yet.

1972 Silver 240Z that I had in college. At the time, I did not have the talent, tools or workspace to properly restore it. I have found myself thinking about that car alot over the last 20 years.

1973 VW Westy Bus. Bought it during my highschool daze. It had only 34k miles, had nearly perfect factory original paint and interior. It was lowered a few inches and rolled on late model vanagon alloys. It was the tightest drivng bus I've ever seen.

My parents had a 1965 Corvair Corsa Hardtop Coupe which was to be willed to me. I always though it would be a cool, quirky, fixer upper, first car. It waited for me in rough condition under their patio until their HOA was alerted to this offence. They had no choice but to sell the car when I was 14 years old

In '83 my dad bought a Mazda B2000. When I was old enough to drive in the later '80s and early '90s he handed the keys to me. Eventually giving it to me for my 21st birthday. I drove the heck out of this thing - I loved it - it was perfect. I took care of this thing with my Dad from day #1, he taught me cars on this truck.

It is and remains perfect in my eyes. There is one in great shape down the road from me that I drool over. I want it BACK but it is long gone I'm sure.

Was your '90 for sale in Texas? On the SHO forum?

73 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. My wife called the color puke yellow. I loved that car. I'd like to have the X1/9 back too.

I finally 'dug up' a couple of old fotoz of my car & scanned them. They are around 1971. The skinny guy on the left is yours truly (the hair is pretty much all white now). The guy on the right was a buddy of mine who got his Bsc. in archeology & went on to become a very successful man in real estate. Like I mentioned previously, I sure would like to have that car back.

Cheers
JB

I wouldn't mind having it back, but I'd have to give the $250,000 back that I sold it for.

Actually, selling it was probably the wisest thing I've done in a few years.

The yellow 1949 Willeys Jeepster I had in high school. Hated it back then, it wasn't a muscle car with a V-8 and wide ovals. Oh, well...
