Just got back from my Family get together. Thinking of Dave during our prayers. As one of the earlier posters put it, this has been a day for thanks giving.

Get well!

OK!
About what a lot of us were fearing. except maybe you meant to write:
"He is a clot which cannot be disturbed."

David,
As much as I am wishing Norm had been right, I am glad you are where you need to be. Thanks to good judgement, you will have other Thanksgivings with family and many more neat old pieces to freshen up (I am referring to the guns, here).

Thanks for the updates. Keep 'em coming. Maybe get him a piece of metal to file on while he is lying there.

Best
Les

Lucky boy, glad you got a diagnosis and sounds like it can be corrected but certainly a scary scenario.

Thanks for the update.

If it matters or helps, he doesn't have to go to sleep for his carotid surgery. He may be able to request a deep cervical plexus nerve block (best accomplised with ultrasonic guidance) which allows his neurologic state to simply and inexpenively be monitored during surgery. Some surgeons and/or anesthesia folk be caught off-guard by a request for it... or they (or you) may not feel "comfortable" with having his endarterectomy done this way. Best of luck!!

I've been following this thread and am while I'm sorry to hear of the problem, I'm so glad it was discovered in the Hospital. Get well soon.

It was really cool how the Pelican community rallied to convince him to go to the hospital.

Thanks for the updates! As others have mentioned, this was dodging a game ender...or at the minimum, a very big life style changer.

Glad to know this very nice fellow will be around to hang out with us degenerates. David's Wife- thanks for lettting him know how much he means to us and that REAL men do eat quiche!

Wow, all this is scary.
David, I'm glad you got checked in. Get better soon.
Thanks for the update, Mrs. David's Wife.
Prayers are on the way to both of you.

Updates as possible, please. And a pic of the old clot in his hospital bed would be nice. Just for future teasing usage.

Almost spit my morning coffee on the screen.

Once again Mrs. D. Thank you for keeping us all updated. Maybe if he is bored in the hospital he can read the Carrera GT book if he hasn't already.
David, I know how it is being a stubborn goat. You did the right thing going to the hospital. If not for you, for your family and friends. I don't like going to the doctor either but I do for my girls. Get well soon Mr!!!

Big plus one! Glad David is in the hands of pros. One suggested therapeutic item. A transistor radio. Sure helped me to have one when I was in the hospital. TV sucked, and the radio gave me something I could control when I felt I had no control!

David, we're pulling for you!

Thanks, MJ. I know he is good hands with you at the tiller. I still haven't told Jack about this since he thinks Dave hung the moon.

Dave is a good dude, a good man. Keep us all updated and also please think of yourself...call if you need any little thing. I'm like two toll roads away

David's a man alright. No doubt about that. Men get lumps in their throats too, and they might eat quiche.

Thanks for the updates. We will continue to be anxious for more information. Glad he is in professional care. Good bassists like David are hard to find. Not to mention the gunsmithing thing.

David – I just found your post and was in shock until I reached MJ’s first update (in 44 deep) that the Doc’s had you captive for testing. Her second update that the problem had been identified and an initial plan of action was in place was very good news. Sorry about you missing TC but right now YOU take priority. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Note of personal thanks:
To the “Pelican First Responders”: T-Bird was online for nearly two hours with you guys in finalizing his decision to get to the ER. He was in a tough spot, either go right away and possibly miss the big show or postpone it where he may or may not of had the luxury of choice. At least 17 guys “jumped him” right away via some 24 posts pushing to get to the ER immediately from RickV repeatedly pounding away to Zeke finally chasing him off his computer. Great job guys, your collective effort paid off big!
