Glad to see you went to the Dr., and Thanks Mrs. D for the update. I hope you make a speedy recovery, and get to do the gig this weekend. It might just be a neck / muscle spasm from haulin' around that heavy assed Thunderbird!

Guys, strokes aren't something to play around with. You may remember that my Mother had one back in Sept., and although she's doing much better, she's still recovering. Unless you've dealt with a stroke patient, you have no idea the havoc it wrecks upon a Family. The recovery is a constant emotional, and physical battle, for both the patient, and the Family. I can see how it can tear a Family apart. If you even suspect a stroke, or even a mini stroke, GET HELP!!! If not for you, do it for your Family, Please!

David's wife here again with an update - his carotid artery is 70% blocked so it's either a stint or neck surgery. We're leaning toward neck surgery. Either way, there's a complication - of course! - he has a clot which cannot be disturbed so he's on blood thinners to dissolve it. He'll be in there a while waiting for this to work. His attitude is much improved, not so pissy and actually admitted he was a bull head about seeing a doctor earlier. I read all of your messages to him and he was so touched. Don't tell him I told you, but, he had a lump in his throat. Yes, he's a real man and, Yes, he eats quiche. More tomorrow....

That is awesome to hear. Well, not the bad parts, but the good parts.

Sounds like this was caught in time before it really did some damage. Good thoughts your way for his speedy recovery.

And he won't live down the quiche part...

Thanks for the update.

And thankfully he's in the right place to deal with this.

He may miss this thanksgiving but he can enjoy many still to come.

Thank you for the update.

And I like quiche.

(Vietnamese savory quiche,but still quiche)

Tell him SxS sends his best.

Was thinking about him earlier and made me think about what to do with an ole set of double barrels (SxS's).

I've got a garage project that because of David I'll now be doing.

Hell , the man's an inspiration even when he's not here !

Thank goodness he went in!

Glad to hear that despite it not just being indigestion, it's something they found and it sounds like they should be able to fix.

Thank you for the update. My mother had the carotid surgery (Carotid endarterectomy (CEA)) a few years ago and she made a complete recovery and bounced back pretty quickly. I'm glad there's a plan to take care of this and that the Dr's caught it in time. We need to keep David healthy and kicking out butts here!!

I'm very happy that cooler heads on the Internet prevailed, I'd probably have an identical "I'm fine" reaction. We men tend to be optimistic to a fault when it comes to our health, plus hospitals suck. You'll all be in my prayers for a quick and easy recovery.

Whew...been thinking 'bout this all day. Sounds like David is gonna miss the TC gig, but don't worry...they'll be more. Knowing he's a big Keef fan...just remember that the "dance floor" just ain't the same without him and we all are "Dancing with Mr. D" in spirit ...

PS: In all seriousness here. David, I hope you've had your very LAST cigarette buddy. Quitin' is the easy part...not lighting "your next, last one" is harder, and simply "mind control"...haven't had one in 18 months...time for you to do likewise.

David, glad you are getting treatment. I hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery. It's tough to miss some fun events but I think we'd all like to have you around well after this weekend so good on you for going to get it checked out. I'll be praying for you and your wife.

Besides, I need all the imaginary friends I can get.........
