It's rumored that I'll be there, too, but that rumor is false. I stay far, far away from that stuff.

Dave, you should get getting an email soon from NAMM to confirm your badge.

By the way, are we all aware that, just down the road from NAMM, is an amp show happening during the same time? Friday and Saturday at the Ayres Anaheim

I love it: NO DECIBEL METERS at the amp show. The Sound Police (aka noise narc) @ Winter NAMM walk the floor with dB meters. >85dB gets you a warning. 3 warnings & you are shut down & you have to have a sound room next year. iirc

There are no piercing, tat, or silicone police however...

I'll be back this year. I hadn't planned on it, but then I got thinking about the crazy stuff I saw and heard and I thought it wouldn't hurt (too much) to go back one more time ...

Anybody who might need lunch at NAMM . . . . you can pre-order In-N-Out Burgers. We just spent $140 for the duration . . .

See In-N-Out Burger Comes to NAMM!

That In-N-Out Burger is gonna have an hours-long line. Even the really bad and overpriced food places there get huge lines at lunch.

imcarthur 12-19-2011 01:04 PM

Usually we eat nothing all day & show food is always below bad. So even with a lineup, it will be a treat.

You guys don't like week-old $8 hot dogs?

imcarthur 12-19-2011 01:33 PM

No. Throwing up would cut into our drinking time at night.

Our food for Namm...

Amazon BBQ a few miles away. If you love meat, go here.
Goofy's Kitchen in Downtown Disney.
Johnny Reb's a few miles away. Southern.
Cima at Pacific Palms on Sat for their AWESOME buffet.

Saturday Morning is usually a "Gear Page" guitar forum breakfast at Baker's Square a couple blocks from the convention center.

And wherever else we decide to go.

Oh.. and a place called The Hat for pastrami sandwiches.. anyone heard of them?

imcarthur 12-20-2011 05:29 AM

K'ya in the Hotel Menage is very good as well. Reservations necessary.

azasadny 01-08-2012 08:40 AM

I'm trying to get booked to speak at the summer NAMM show. Hopefully, they can use me andf we'll hit the show and the Muriel Anderson Guitar Night. I was told that the summer show may not be in Nashville, so I'll have to check on that...
