Looks like I'll be there Thu/Fri/Sun. Fri and Sun are for sure, and I need to either go down late Wed and meet with one of the manufacturers or show up first thing Thu. I'm leaning towards the latter. Will be a busy weekend though as I have Calvin Thu night, and have gigs Fri and Sat night so I need to roll out of there by 2 or 3pm on Thu/Fri.

I arrived in wonderful warm Anaheim yesterday (not) after a great drive from Vegas to Palm Springs - the long way through the desert. We 'vacationed' there for 2 nights & then took 74 over the mountains & through Lake Elsinore with lunch in Newport Beach.

As far as I know, Rick, Todd, Wolf & Jared are all making an appearance at the show. As before, I will be in Hall A Booth 6998 way over in the corner . . . .

Today & tomorrow are setup. And wireless communication hasn't been crushed here yet but I am sure it will die by Thursday just like last year. :(

Sorry Ian, you have bad timing. We've had 70s and 80s most of Dec and Jan. But a front just moved through and another one is on the way so it looks like chilly and rain on Sat/Sun.

I'll be down briefly tomorrow afternoon to drop something off but not sure that I actually can get inside the hall. Looks like there are badge stations but I suspect only red badges can get in before Thu.

At any rate, here's my tentative schedule:

Thu - 10am until about 3pm (I have a 7pm gig in Venice)
Fri - 10am until about 3pm (8pm gig in Marina del Rey)
Sat - not planning on going (8pm gig in Santa Monica)
Sun - 10am (?) until the early afternoon

My father and I will be there Thursday. First NAMM show for both of us. Are cameras allowed?

Palm Springs was so warm yesterday that we drove too down on the way. 35 degrees up in the mountains was chilly.

Cameras are everywhere - not an issue. At least it never has been in the past.

Bad news: son is sick, daughter is sick, and my mother is having medical issues that will keep us all in AZ for at least the next week. Was really looking forward to meeting all of you but I guess I will have to wait until next year. :(

Ok, I'll call or see you Thurs. and figure out a plan. If the other Pelicans are going to get a drink Thurs. night in Anaheim, I might stick around for that. I haven't booked a hotel yet, but just have a 9am in Santa Monica on Fri. Don't want to ride up from the OC in Friday morning rush hour.

Btw My room in the Hilton Garden Inn is rumored to be well stocked with liquor. Saturday is pizza & wine night. St Emilion, Saint Joseph, Cote Rotie + whatever crap pizza we order . . .

Thurs @ K'Ya on Harbor near Disney. Fri is sushi @ Matsu So Good Sushi in Huntington Beach.

Hey Ian, do you know if they are limiting access today based on badge color? I have to come down and drop something off and I figure I can get my badge printed but don't know if I can get in. Mine is "yellow."

Exhibitors only, I would assume. Red is the good color. :o I am off to Encino this AM for a mic delivery to some session drummer's house.

My friend Diane (DJ) will be working the Fuchs amp booth at NAMM Friday and Saturday from 1-2pm.
She just signed a contract with Playboy and will have a feature sometime later this year.
She's a very sweet, approachable girl with a great attitude.

I'm definitely going to Cars and Coffee if it's not raining. I'll swing by to Ian at his booth tomorrow and will call Wolfe when I get to NAMM. Slodave, I don't have your cell anymore.

We've seen what Fender is rolling out now, and the new tube amp line looks VERY exciting. Now if Ampeg would just release a new V4B........

I should be hitting the Fender booth just after NAMM opens, if anyone wants to meet up.
