Your funeral - what sort of service do YOU want?

Donate organs then cremate and scatter my ashes over a mountain here in Arizona.

I have in my will a large amount of $$ designated for a large party for friends and family. It might not be enough for "hookers and blow" for everyone but sure will help!

Many good ideas here - I'm leaning towards cremation and being packed to the top of Mount Whitney (a hike I've done twice and will always love, in an area I'll always love) or possibly having my ashes (and those of my beloved pets) scattered on the back side of Catalina Island - spending eternity in such a lovely, unspoiled and tranquil (and warm, unlike the Whitney summit for portions of the year) doesn't sound too bad.

Simple memorial, pictures, some video messages including me saying "who gets what" to prevent any stupid post-death lawyering and stuff. I'd like people to have fun and remember me for a person who loved life.

For myself, I have always said that I want to be cremated. It is included in my directives. My wife is aware of this and has agreed to have that done. I haven't really thought about anything surrounding that, perhaps just buy a last round for everyone.

My dad's wishes were a little more elaborate and we took care of them after he died almost two years ago.

My dad was born and raised in Liverpool. When he came home after WWII there was nothing left for him there and he hopped on a ship and came to the US. But, Liverpool was always his home. He was an iron worker all of his life. But, he had a love of football (soccer). He was playing in a league game with the British Legion in Philadelphia one weekend when he noticed that there was only one person of the field that was getting paid, the referee. He then decided to become a ref. Long story short, he moved up through he ranks and became the first US-based FIFA referee. He would often be called upon to officiate world cup games and other international competitions.

My dad's wishes were to have his ashes scattered at Anfield, the home of Liverpool F.C. Here is the groundskeeper scattering his ashes on the pitch. We all retired to the pub afterwards. It was a fitting tribute.

If I ever hit the lotto, I would opt for being cryogenically frozen so that when the technology exists, I can carry on.

Short of that, I guess I would opt for a traditional deal..... funeral home followed by a traditional Catholic funeral and then be buried next to family.

Bury me in nothing fancier than a pine box and bury me deep. Then have a party on my behalf and celebrate life !

Organs will be donated. They may want to take a close look at the liver first though.

Ashes to be spread out at a bunch of favorite locations and vacation spots. I was going to make a list, but decided to leave it up to the survivors discretion. But they must make a list. They know the rules.

Already have the $$ put away for a large drunken stupidfest. Tears of joy only allowed.
