Betcha Don't Have One Of These Spoons

S&W K-32 Hand Ejector First Model, 1 of 94, 1939 : Revolvers at GunBroker.com

Being a reblue makes this price a bit on the high side...one thinks in the 7K to 8K neighborhood would be about right. 15K to 18K would be in the neighborhood if it were not refinsihed. Very rare and very hard to get revlover that were always pricey.

I have one of the last ones produced in the 1970's NIB unfired...one of the 3630...I bought it when the prices were still on the ground for these things...very soon after they skyrocketed..

The Smith and Wesson revolvers prior to this style action were a top break design. When the action was opened on a top break, the barrel and cylinder pulled down together and the empty cartridges were automatically ejected. When S&W changed to a swing out cylinder style action,in order for the cartridges to be ejected, the cylinder pin had to be pushed as a separate action or move. Thus the "hand ejector" name. Smith and Wesson revolvers carried the Hand Ejector name for quite a few years and it applied to models in .22 r/f up to at least .45 Schofield maybe larger.

Why do they have a bullet in front of the trigger in the pictures? I've seen this before and wondered.

That is just to get a better angle for the camera. Sometimes you will see a large cartridge like this one. It is a rifle cartridge and would not fit into the revolver cylinder chambers. Sometimes you will see a wooden dowel instead of a cartridge. Just depends on what is on hand.
