Anybody want a 560SEC?

I have a 1987 560 SEC I am going to sell for as much as I can get but if any OT yahoos are interested, I will give the usual OT discount.

210,000 miles. Arrow-straight body, runs great*, new tires, new battery, new front pads.

This beauty is guaranteed to run forever with little or no maintenance**.

If anyone is interested, I'll post pics - but not until I post pics of Cecale's PPOT gift to me, which has priority.

* It has momentarily died three times in the last two months. Today, for the first time, it sounded like the starter may be on its way out. A/C does not work, etc.

** Absolutely positively not a guarantee. Maintenance will be required.

"new front pads..." Wow, I'll bet that beast chews through those.

Growing up in OC, that was THE car to have. I might have even lusted in my heart for it

I have no idea what a 560 SEC is, but I'm pretty sure I want one. How much RAM does it have? Can I use solvent based cleaning products on it? What sort of life can I expect out of the bearings and the picture tube?

Nothing! That's one great thing about the car - B-pillar replacement is free.

The provenance of the car is practically worth more than the car so if you buy the car, the provenance is free or, if you buy the provenance, I'll throw in the car for free. It was purchased NEW, BRAND NEW, in 1987 in Santa Barbara by a friend of my FIL for $75,000.00. The original owner then sold it - lightly used - to another friend of my FIL. That friend then sold it - moderately used - to my FIL, who then sold it to me, for somewhat less than the original sticker price.

Like I said, provenance.

Wait, the car is in Providence? Does that mean you'll ship it from Rhode Island?

I thought we could drive it back together. Do you want the car or not? I don't have all day.

This is the car Patrick Swayze drove in Roadhouse, right?

'Course his had fancy wheels, because he was a Movie Star.

It is the same car and the current wheels are somewhat custom.

I didn't realize curb rash was a customization.

I was interested until you rushed me. Now I feel like I should go on a hike to clear my head.

It looks nothing like the Princess Di death car. My recent black '96 S500 was identical to the car she died in, at least appearance-wise.

Then you probably should have taken better care of it.
