Scammers English getting better

Or could just be an English scammer.

Greetings Scott,

My name is William Clark, and I would like to discuss a business opportunity that offers the potential for considerable earnings.

I work for a privately held manufacturing company, which currently purchases a product vital to its processing operations at a price significantly above the manufacturing cost. In my proposed business venture, you would assume the role of stand-in supplier, providing this key material while retaining the same profit margins. My role would be to introduce you to my company as the supplier and to obtain a contract between you and my employer.

I understand that your past experience does not directly relate to my field. However, this venture is more in line with your personal capabilities rather than your professional experience.

I would like to confirm your current phone number 5166562258. Please send a return email to verify your contact number and to schedule the most convenient time to discuss these possibilities in detail. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Kindest Regards,
William Clark

Sounds like he'll propose a kickback.

Not sure what database he's skimming but that phone number, my old office, has not been in service for 8 years.

The giveaway is the complex sentences and words. They never figure out in Africa, that big sentences don't impress folks like they think it would.

WTF? " I'm a middle man trying to get you to sell stuff to a company that needs to buy stuff from you."???

We had a new recrute at work, who used to send emails to customers , (tech support) in what only can be described as advanced power english.

Note, those were his words, when i confronted him with his emails, and tried to explain to him that he really oughta keep his emails to the point, and simple, because he had german customers and those english emails would simply not do the trick with Germans..

his reponse was :maybe you should learn better english if you can't understand my power english..

riiiiiight. No problem mate, as your mentor, i'm tell you to knock i off or you'll be looking for another place to use your power english real soon.

Brevity is a learned craft.

I have staff that will send me stuff for review before they send it off.

The hardest thing to get them to understand is sometimes the more you say the more ammo you give someone to counter you or give them leverage that they did not have before.

One of my engineering COOPs assigned to writing a section of a manual used "myriad". "There are a myriad of ways to program the microcontroller.

MANY. Use the simple word. The Pakistanis might not even understand easy English. Sheesh.

I too have noticed some better written scams. They are all the same formula.

Do you ship to "my conutry"? I need to buy "X". Do you take Credit cards? I want my guy to do the shipping.
