Halloween Handouts

I heard that there was a guy in town handing out condoms to the older kids tonight. As a parent, I'm not sure how I feel a about this. I guess the little kids got chocolate bars...

I was thinking today about how when I was a kid people used to had out things like home made cookies, popcorn balls, and other home made things. How things have changed. If you handed something outlike that, people would be suspicious of razor bades & pins.

We only hand out toys / penciles and the like. When my son brings his haul back he will pick the few pieces he actually wants and then we throw that candy into the pot. What is left over hangs around to be used as decoration on ginger bread house

I ran out of candy one year and had to run to the store for more. All they had left were the little boxes of Sun Maid raisins so I handed those out.

Woke up the next morning and my lawn was littered with raisin boxes. Those kids wanted CANDY, not no stinkin' raisins....

Dude, raisins????

Do you even remeber being a kid?

The worst thing I received as a kid when I was trick or treating was pecans in the shell! The really old lady (probably 60 at the time) would dump a handfull of pecans in every bag.

No one ever gave us raisins.

got raisins, tooth brushes pennies, mini Bibles.

I've given out dog biscuts to rude kids as well as ice cubes to rude kids with paper bags.

Ice cubes here as well but once I had a mom come back to my door and ask why I gave her kids them. Explained it was the "Trick" in the process. She was not amused.

That's funny. I'd be too worried about a little SOB coming back and egging my house or car.

When I was a kid, back in the mid 70s, my parents didn't let me eat apples or anything homemade for just that reason.

My carpool buddy told he yesterday he was giving out bags of those small pretzels.
I told him that the next morning his bushes were going to be full of bags of those small pretzels.

Who does that? We all know what kids want, snickers and butterfingers and chocholate and stuff like that. They don't want pretzels, they don't want fruit, they want candy.
