Not really a fair comparison, since that tie, shirt and jacket are all pretty ugly. Also, I'm pretty sure that visible chest hair would not have been appropriate.

You know, it was tough finding images for what I had in mind. I guess it's time passed, but there used to be a lot of guys that wore a shirt and tie at work; short sleeve, long sleeve. No coat, just a windbreaker kind of jacket. Usually had a pocket protector.

Then the no tie with the suit thing cropped up in the 90's (or before). The guy with the fancy suit and no tie was always dressed in a more formal attire. At least that's the way it looked.

AFA chest hair, look at his unshaven face. Seems like every dude in SoCal has a shaved head, unshaven beard, jeans and a scarf.

That's totally opposite of how I look in my Polo shirt, pants and Top Siders with lots of gray hair.

Okay, no tie, wear your 2" wide black leather belt mid belly around the outer waist of the jacket, and a turtle neck.

Turtle Necks will soon be the next rage, I dunno, in 2270-2350 A.D time frame.......

guess it all depends on the job you're applying for:

Spike heels with those high ankle straps are killer.
There's another name for them that I'll not pass on.

I've actually been told to dress down after I wore a tie a few times, so I'm wondering if just a shirt and tie would be more appropriate.
Yes dammit- dress it up-no clubbing outfits though.

Anytime I went for a job interview-for a Machinist- I still put on a sports jacket , nice shirt and pants.

If that is NOT you- be yourself and wear you heart on ypour sleeve then!!

nothing says go-getter like a JEDI outfit. you can keep your resume in the hoodie/trenchcoat.

Thong.

'nuff said.

If they don't hire you, you can always sue for discrimination.
