Thanks, it was fun and I'm glad the aluminum gutters worked. My friend told me about the aluminum gutter trick and he Parkerized a Garand rifle using a similar setup. Pistols are much easier to Parkerize, but the shotgun was very difficult, either.

I used gutters like yours with a hot plate before I bought a steel tank from brownells. They work fine.

When I won the lottery, I'll but steel tanks, but for now the gutter work well and they are easy to make in any length I need... The heat built up fast and stayed consistent throughout the process, which I liked.
I meant to say "the shotgun WASN'T very difficult, either"...
