Well I know Glen and Richard are okay, I don't think it hit where Sid lives.

Tonight is supposed to be worse, the NWS is calling for a tornado outbreak across parts of KS, OK, and NE. Of course Wichita is squarely in the highest risk zone, horray. The forecast is for large, violent, long-lived, and life threatening tornados. To everybody that lives in the area, be safe.

i lived in clinton ok for nine years in the late seventies. even then the local tv stations did a reasonably good job of following the weather especially during the tornado system...with the available technology of that time. we had one that did considerable damage as it passed along the outskirts of town. everyone be safe...as possible!

Haven't moved yet guys. The bad storms were south and east of us yesterday. We just got a lot of rain, wind and a little hail.

The stuff today is more in the central part of the state. Glen, Richard, and Matt are at more risk today.

So you probably remember seeing Gary England on the TV.... All the stations in OK have serious meteorology teams, with very good radar systems. They send out groups of storm spotters in 4wd trucks, and helicopters. When it gets bad all the stations go to full time storm coverage.

Okies don't play around with Tornadoes.

sidney, yes i remember. still have fond memories of the area. that same tornado dropped down and hit the corner of the plant...collins-aikman-- that i was managing at that time. blew out the train entry door to the plant and did some other lesser damage to the plant structure.. i left in 82 and collins aikman closed the doors in 99 or 2000. that plant now produces dog food products. be safe!

Gary England is on right now. Non stop, no commercials. I fell sure the other 3 stations are as well. Last night at 2:00 am the tornado sirens went off. They were tracking the tornado street by street. They showed the projected path and time of arrival. It was miles from me so we went back to bed. For anyone that saw the movie Twister Gary England is the guy that was on the TV at the start of the movie.

Be safe everyone.
When you've been watching the weather networks as long as I have and today I see a different and very serious look on all the faces of everyone reporting this.
These look huge !

I'm in KC with the family watching a tornado move into Wichita on the Weather Channel. I'm glad that I'm not there, but I hope I have a house to come home to.

A person would die from water saturation if they did the Gary England drinking with just water today. He was on non stop for 5 hours or more today.

Fingers crossed for you Matt. We are watching another line in Texas. I'll be up late keeping an eye on things. No storm sirens out here in the country to wake us.

I hear ya! Wife just got me out of bed to watch whats going on. I used to live in Woodward, 1st thing we did was build a shelter. Her cousin lives in Clinton, they're getting hit in the next few minutes. Think I might get lucky here in the SOUTH part, dunno yet....
