The video seems really deceiving on how steep it is. I've never been there but watching the safety guys trying to walk down the gravel shows how really steep it is. Sucks that they had to drag the car though.

That has to be almost a 45degree angle. I have been there on and off track (off track on foot that is!). No way you could drive the tow truck up there to turn the vehicle on its wheels without risk to the tow truck, safety personal and the car even. Look how the photographer stumbles out of there too ... d

It is very steep. Makes it hard to ride a bike up the path on the side of the track if there are any people around. Have to go too slow and fall over.

You can see the ocean from the top of the Corkscrew.
It's a 7 story drop from the apex to the bridge before T9...

Tekkor, I was wondering what the land mass is you can see across the ocean. I am not too familar with the geography of the Monterey Penninula but I assume it is the mainland on the other side of the bay.
