medical question?

Your medical opinons please.

I got a bang on the head two and a half months ago. I walked into some scaffolding equipment (of mine ) and cracked my cheek bone + 50mm cut to the bone under my eye.

The doctor at the hospital was a bit concerned, concussion brain damage etc. I said really I'm fine, just a big cut that needs fixing. But she said "NO BANGS ON THE HEAD FOR A FEW MONTHS". A few months is up now. Or does she mean six months?

I'm fine and thanks to vitamin E and bio oil the scar is starting to disappear too but shall I be extra careful for longer?

Thanks guys

I'd start with head banging music and go from there.

LOL, thanks guys

Thank you Mr. Webb. I wasn't knocked out, but felt like throwing up for an hour, then after the one hour felt quite good. Doc said that wasn't good that it was for one hour and it was an indication I'd got impact that whacked my brain around a little.

I can't ask the particular doc as she is an accident and emergcy doc who only sees accident people at the time.

The one with the dirty knees.

You're good to go on the head-banging, Bill. Bang away!

Sounds like it's okay to start banging your head on things again. Affinity for soccer?

Just look at these prof. hockey players, boxers etc. Repeated blows to the head are not good for your brain or mental health. I am not a doctor. It is common sense. Too many blows to the head you might have to wear a helmet 24/7.

Thank you again Mr. Webb. I'll see my own doc and get a sign off as being OK.

It wasn't actually that big a whack on the head it was just that I got the cut that I went to the hospital.

So yes, thanks other guys, I'll go back to using my head to stop trains and to knock fence posts into the ground.

the puking is a sign of concussion, your brain got bounced around in its box and you scrambled your eggs a bit. Follow up with your regular doc. For the cut, put the highest number sunscreen you have on it for the next 6-12 months.

Thanks Mark. Luckily it's winter around here so not too much sun. But when the sun comes out I will do the sunscreen thing.

Sorry Toby. I knew I'd heard the Mark Donahue name before but hey, we are all champion racers around here.

I've been to Carmichael. Nice place
