				What color are GT3 wheels?

A serious question. Mine are red. I want to paint them silver like the originals. But what color is the silver? I want them to match the center caps perfectly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. | ||

I think they used to be Arctic Silver on 996 and early 997. The centerlocks might be a different color, though.

I've heard that Wurth rattle cans are a match....if not, paint the caps too. Like anyone is gonna notice the shade being different without another GT3 around to compare with.

Rattle canning GT3 wheels seems a little blasphemous, doesn't it? Seems like they'd at least be worth a powder coating.

When I saw a factory tech touch up a car with a paint can and a 2 inch brush, all my pretentiousness went down the toilet. As to powder coating....matching is going to be more difficult.

I'm honestly not sure. They're wheels. They get worn, dirty, rashed. I have to say, if I take my time and do it right, I can get a pretty good finish with a rattle can. One that lasts longer than you might think.

To the original poster, if you take them to a professional just provide the center cap for a color match. Most paint shops (and I assume powder coaters) can computer match paint colors by scanning your sample.

Thanks you guys- I am taking them to a pro and will take along a center cap. The red finish is beautiful (from the factory) but it's not what I want.
