The guy in Colorado with the armored dozer defined "indestructable". That's just a farm tractor.

I'm a bit weak in this area of history (and too lazy to google it), but weren't Vermont farmers at the center of The Great Whiskey Rebellion shortly after the Revolutionary War? Something about how when they figured out they were still being taxed for their booze, they got all lit up and started their own damn war? Maybe it was Pennsylvanians. Anyone know?

About $130K bare, without any attachments....add the various cutting , manure spreading, tilling equipment, the costs go way up...

Vermont is an interesting place... I know we have a regular poster who is a Vermonter..

I have owned a house and property in Vermont for more than 20 years..... Unless you are born in Vermont, you never ever will be a Vermonter...

Some people I have known for year stil poke fun at me for being a flatlander, and my biggest sin of all is being from New York!.. you would think Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain boys are about to raid my place

I also think it was Vt, Jeff.

good thing it was not in Orygun - farmer is liable to smash the cops cars, chain saw them in half and then git out the rifle

I'm not sure of this...but I did live in VT for 10 years. I seem to recall that Vermont is not one of the 13 original states that signed the Declaration of Independence. The green mountain boys fought in the Revolutionary War, but VT opted to be an independent republic for some period before deciding to join the union. Not sure if its true but that was the "legend" passed around when I was up there.

VT is an interesting and sort of conflicted place for sure. It has some of the most progressive environmental laws, and was early to legalize same sex civil unions - thus liberal. On the conservative side, firearm laws are very relaxed - cash 'n carry, no permits required.

My favorite piece of VT law: its legal to cross the double yellow to pass on the two-lane backroads.

History of Vermont - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whiskey Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

looks like it was all over the western frontier, but with most action in w. Pa.

I guess the armed libertarianism of Vt. is why I was thinking of it re the single malt revolution...
