Tomorrow I go into the hospital for my third bowel resection. On the unpleasant experience chart I'd give it around an 8......maybe a 9. Getting there was no fun either...I'm down to 145 lbs.......down 10lbs in the last month, 20 since I retired, & 30 from "normal".

Assuming I wake up, this one *should* last me till I take the dirt nap.

Good attitude goes a long way with any surgery. Having Crohn's disease and 18" of my intestines cut out, I feel your pain. Literally. Hang tough and keep hitting the morphine drip button!

If I may ask, what condition makes this operation necessary once, let alone three times? Is this just the hand you were dealt or the result of lifestyle choices? Just curious. I keep wondering when my luck is going to run out.

Crohn's disease......30odd years worth.
You could say it's a life style thing. If you don't eat, it's not a problem.
