Great to hear you checking in Shaun. You are one very lucky man! Your gaurdian angels were definitely working over time. Mercedes can sure take a hit thats for sure.
Keep mending. :D |
They have people at Mercedes that have been basically doing nothing but crashing their cars into trees for decades. I'm not kidding.
|
Whew Shaun its good to hear that you are able to check in with us to share the story.
The rehab may seem an ordeal but so much better than the alternitive. Which it seems you narrowly averted. Bless the MB which gave its all to save you. We are all so glad you are on the mend. Cheers Richard |
I forgot to tell you Shaun, we're now in the same club. The I survived a horrific accident after falling asleep at the wheel club.

Glad to see you at the keyboard and on the mend. Heal fast.
|
Glad to know, you are still with us.
|
chilling story!
|
Shaun, very sorry you have to endure this, and wish you all the best for a speedy recovery. Listen to your physical therapist. Again, so sorry, and best wishes for a quick recovery.
|
Shaun, god bless you!!!! Wow.....
|
Shaun, glad you're Ok. Nobody survives this kind of crash unless they're in really good physical condition in the first place. And yes, the benz did protect you well... Hope your back to 100% real soon!
|
I don't know how, but am glad you are hurt no worse than you were. If I can do anything let me know. Get well soon.

Glad you're still with us Shaun. Looking at the pics of the car make my stomach hurt. Not sure how you came out of that in one piece, let alone alive.
Sure hoping you have some sort of health insurance! |
Like everyone else, I'm pleased you're still in the land of the living!

Actually I was on my way to work, 3rd shift. I hit a telephone pole. Got away with a broken jaw and a few internal injuries. |

Your car looks like that and you broke your pelvis and big toe, really? Guess the seatbelt cracked your pelvis, better than the steering wheel cracking your sternum.
They don't do surgery on pelvic fractures unless they are pretty displaced. For the big toe, if it is not into the joint, surgery may not be necessary either. If you had your foot on the brake pedal when you hit the tree, you want to worry about a Lis Franc's joint fracture/dislocation. So if you had bleeding in your head, does that mean you got the dain bramage and are going to start agreeing with me? I sure hope not. You best buy another Mercedes, maybe a Volvo |
What Tobra says. Tru dat!
|
I'm giving myself 4 weeks to be better than ever, but it might take 5. Feeling better every day but definitely pushing myself too hard.
Tobra, they said my femur was pushed back into my pelvis and that fractured it. Everything else is feeling better except for shoulder and chest. THose were were very bruised I think and not healing as fast as I would like. I could tell the doctors didn't know what they were talking about RE: bleeding on my brain. My brain gets so little blood, "bleeding" would certainly be an exaggeration in nearly any circumstance. Definitely getting another Mercedes. This car and some help from God, truly saved my life. Thanks again to everyone's well wishes and signing on. Really helps the recovery. |

Glad you survived and are doing better! You have a great attitude. Obviously you must still have great things to achieve in the future given the current condition of that Merc. |
