there is a slogan in texas that i always appreciated, its posted on a lot of the freeways and back roads...it says "drive friendly". there are a lot of unfriendly drivers out there. i will always try to be courteous and if yielding when i don't have to means letting the other guy in i really do not mind ....nothing like being a kid again and taking turns.
drive friendly, ben :D

Solve that problem in Australia by making it mandatory for the owner of the car to nominate a driver in a statutory declaration. Make a false stat dec and risk prison time.

Exactly how I drive. In this hurried, harried world, small acts of courtesy and random kindness do make a difference.

And who knows, the person you let in could turn out to be a Pelican!

In Germany they fixed this problem very easily. First time you use the defense "It wasnt me driving the car" they give you a freebie.

Second time it happens you are then forced to carry a log in the car that you MUST fill out for EVERY time you get in the car. If you are ever stopped by a cop they will ask for the log and if you have not filled it out for that drive, then you get tickets and fines.

You get away with the ticket once and then get to fill out the log the rest of your life. Is it worth it? Sure would not be for me...
