Excellent! My wife and I are lifelong sailors. Take USPS or USCGA classes please.

Good luck with it, I have a boat problem too. Be sure to inspect the thru hulls, valves and hoses while it's out of the water. Replace any that are suspect and any gate valves you find.

Have fun with it

Very nice canoe! I love the old ones. I did a lot of Fiberglass and Aluminum paddling.

I love Candian canoes too. Om my bucket list is a canoe paddle from the mountains down to state highway2 which is, as the bird flys, only about 15 or 20 miles. But I guess times that by 2 or three for the turns and twists. So I thought get a Candian canoe, fly rod, vino, sleeping bag and see how long it takes.

Bill, we would do 50 miles over a week, or about 10 miles per day when canoeing. Usually, some of the places were more than an overnight. The biggest problem was black bears.

Welcome to a nice community of people, sailboaters, we are the ragtoppers but not the stinkpots.

Not in any hurry to get anywhere because that is the fun of it. A few quotes " red sky at night, sailors delight" " Wind before rain, set sail again. Rain before wind, take her in".

Here is a photo of Eagle Harbor, myself standing on a log over the water with my C&C in the background.

I know Eagle Harbor. You're on Bainbridge Island. I'm just north of you (or will be) in Kingston.

KevinP73, no I am not Bainbridge, I know a good ortho Dentist on Bainbridge. I live in Leavenworth, east of the cascade mtns.

My boat is in a marina in Anacortes, I sail about 4-6 days per month on ave. The San Juan Islands are a kick in the pants, sail by the currants and tides and life is good out here.

From Kingston in your boat would take a good long day sail to get to the San Juans.
