Does your state have types of concealed carry permits?

Misissippi recently enacted an enhanced CCW permit law. If you take an advanced class they will upgrade you permit to allow taking more places. Just curious. Two levels in our state now:

Firearms Permit
•CAN NOT carry in a Courtroom or Law Enforcement Office or detention center.
•CAN NOT carry in Polling Place or meeting of the Government.
•CAN NOT carry at any School, College or Athletic Event.
•CAN NOT carry at establishment or portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises primarily devoted to such purpose .
•CAN NOT carry inside the passenger terminal of any airport .
•CAN NOT carry in any church or other place of worship.
•CAN NOT carry any place prohibited by federal law.
•CAN NOT carry where Private Business displays “NO FIREARMS” signage
•CAN NOT carry in Parades where permits are required.

Enhanced Carry Permit
•CAN NOT carry in courtrooms during a judicial proceeding.
•CAN NOT carry in any police, sheriff or highway patrol station or any detention facility, prison or jail.
•CAN NOT carry any place prohibited by federal law.

Sort of. Unfortunately, it has created classes of citizens in AZ and I don't like it.

AZ residents who are non-prohibited possessors can basically carry openly or concealed anything they can legally own sans permit - machine guns (obviously fed. rules apply here), pistols, shotguns, bow and arrow, you name it. Off limits places are the usual - courthouses, schools, prisons, nuclear facilities, polling stations, etc.

As for places that serve alcohol, it gets tricky. You need a permit to carry in those places, it has to be concealed and, if the place has the proper signage (state-issued with statute number posted at front entrance and next to liquor license), you can't carry there. The silly part is that this does not apply to non-AZ residents. So, if you're from CA, you can carry concealed in a bar here, even if the bar owner bans it with proper signage. Though I wouldn't want to be the test case.

That's pretty much it. We issue non-resident permits, but a lot of states that take AZ permits will only do so for AZ residents. The bottom line is - if you can legally own it here, you can legally carry it here, openly or concealed.

NC CCW is plain vanilla per what I've read. Our law is somewhere between the regular and enhanced permits you posted aboe. We can carry at establishments that serve alcohol - but we can't drink a drop of it while concealing.

Our castle doctrine was enhanced with additional legislation last December. There was also some weird legislative twist where we were not allowed to carry concealed in any designated emergency zones, which was a complete joke. That got struck down several months ago - common sense does occasionally prevail.

We do have an emergency-issue CCW permit that is not-at-all advertised, even on non-state websites. I was issued one of those earlier this year on a temporary basis, and now have my 5-year full permit. The emergency-issue permits are granted only under exceptional circumstances however - they are not handed out like the hardship permits in TX for 15 year old drivers in another thread.

In Arkansas, if you use a revolver during the course, you are issued a 'restricted' permit and can only carry a revolver. If you use an (semi)auto the permit says "Any legal handgun".
I think most instructors will offer the use of an auto so the applicant can receive the 'unrestricted' permit.
btw, when the CCP's started in AR you had provide the serial # of the firearm you would be carrying (you could list three) and those numbers would be on your permit. That was changed a number of years ago.

My brother and father are both retired LEO's and they have to requalify each year to maintain their "unlimited carry" license. They cannot carry to Canada or at any casino, but that's it. They can carry everywhere else, as far as I know...

Only one Permit in Texas - Texas allows carry, including open carry, on your own property. You are also allowed to conceal carry a firearm in a car without the need of a permit.

Firearms Permit
•CAN NOT carry in a Courtroom or Law Enforcement Office or detention center.

In Texas you CAN carry in a non-Federal Court, but they do have metal detectors. Most of the lawyers are armed.

•CAN NOT carry in Polling Place or meeting of the Government. - Same
•CAN NOT carry at any School, College or Athletic Event. - Same, but we're working on Campus carry. We are also restricted on large sporting complexes (Stadiums). Also a CHL, can leave a firearm in a car in a school parking lot. Non CHL are prohibited from this.
•CAN NOT carry at establishment or portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises primarily devoted to such purpose . - In Texas, if the establishment sells alcohol, the fine is much higher for people without a CHL. If the places makes 51% of their business by alcohol sales, carry is prohibited. There is no restriction on whether a permit holder drinks, just can't be intoxicated. We're trying to get the law changed to allow carry in a 51% bar if the permit holder is not drinking (Designated Driver can carry...)
•CAN NOT carry inside the passenger terminal of any airport . - No restriction in Texas
•CAN NOT carry in any church or other place of worship. - Same, but the church has to be marked with proper signage
•CAN NOT carry any place prohibited by federal law. - Same
•CAN NOT carry where Private Business displays “NO FIREARMS” signage - Signage is very specific. If the business does not display proper signage, in both english and spanish, it does not count.
•CAN NOT carry in Parades where permits are required. - No restriction

We also cannot carry in a Hospital! Seems stupid.
And no open carry of any kind off your own property, but we're working to change this.

Hell, here in Illinois, they are trying to make it illegal to even LOOK at one, let alone carry it.

Communists, (not you your politicians oh and they're also pussies being SOOOO afraid of the 2nd amendment).

Here in Ct one type of permit. You can not carry & drink at a bar, you can go into a bar/restaurant that serves alcohol carrying if you aren't drinking. Can not carry if sign posted and obviously no federal or state buildings. Oh here's one... No carrying in state parks

They tried that here for a while at least in city parks. But someone got it shot down under the state pre-emption law. But some cities simply leave the signs up, figuring it will make the ignorant obey them and feel good. I ignore them.

Mark, I can not argue with that. The Chicago Democrats rule with an iron fist. They are trying like hell to drop an iron curtain. They can't conceive that things are different in a town with a population of 10,000 , 300 miles away. I'm closer to Ky, Mo, and In, than I am to Raum Emmanuel, and Mike Madigan.

I still have my CCW from CT. You forgot no carrying in a vehicle (for transport to a range, etc., you must have the ammo and weapon separate). CT also requires you to have a CCW in order to purchase any handgun and wait two weeks to purchase a long gun if you don't have a CCW. They also strangly don't specific concealed.
