Well....yeah it has. For what that is worth. It has been enjoyable getting to talk to you and we have had some laughs for sure. Threads like this, because of jerks like him, make all of us, closer to each other and help each other through goofy situations like this.

Wait........ I'm hearing faint sounds of people singing Kumbya........

I rate this thread 5 stars.

Proud of you David and Don and yes even you Rick for engaging in a productive dialogue to not only air a situation that can (and yes has) happen to everyone here but to reach a resolution that is a win-win.

I can only add that Karma is real and works in our lives. Too bad we have to endure the lack of integrity of others from time to time but in the end we are a community of like-minded individuals and that is what it is all about.

Keep up the good work fellas - proud of you for standing together and handling things with true grit and character - no one can take that away ever.

OK here's an idea......I found their FB page:
Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More

How about posting this photo on their FB and asking how much to repair?

Talk about a shot over the bow....

OK I think this has already been resolved but it still bugs me about the lack of integrity....

Get your gun first........

as to the shipping for repair, why would you not simply ship the stock? Why does the whole gun need to go on a safari?

They only have one review on Yelp. It's positive. Posting a negative review would make an impact. They can remove pics from their Facebook page. Only the original poster (or Yelp) can remove a Yelp review.

Agree totally.

Don/Rick, pls email me the name of the shop so that I do not use them and personally would love to see several of us on the thread go down there and simply tell them that "Because of the games you guys are playing we are not going to be using you!"

That sucks that 2 guys will stand there and tell you a bald faced lie over and over only to recant. But, it's a scratch. Get out the sandpaper and fix it. You guys are awfully proud of your gun stocks. Don't you ever use these things? I have some antique China and every now and then something gets chipped or broken. I use the stuff and I don't cry about damage.

Zeke,

Its one thing should Don do this on his own but this is a newly re-finished gun from an excellent gunsmith. It should look like new when Don picks it up, and after that time its on him to keep it looking like that.

These jerks lying like this is BS and hope they enjoy the Karma they get from it...

Don't get me wrong. I understand why a beautifully finished stock by David is a work of a craftsman and should be appreciated. I understand the frustration concerning the jerks that did this and then lied about it. What I don't understand is why it doesn't just get fixed.

Eff the guys that received the gun. I wouldn't tell any of them if they were about to sit on a rattlesnake. I would just bypass them for better days and better ways.

Can't the stock be removed and sent directly to David w/o a FFL getting involved? It's clear to me that the FFL in AZ ain't gonna make good. The point is to realize it's only a piece of wood and it can be made to look good again and again. Is it worth going to court over the issue?

Sorry if I sounded like I would just go home with the thing and forget about it. I wouldn't. But I wouldn't have a heart attack about it either. My days of being OCD are over.

well...taking this gun apart is not for the faint of heart here. It's not just a straight forward box lock with a bolt thru the buttstock. The wood has the trigger and sear return springs built into the wood on each side. It takes some finesse to get it back together again. Besides that, after Don excepts the transfer, he can send it back to me directly as we are an FFL dealer. Once fixed I can send it back to him directly as he is the original owner and it was in my possession only for the repairs. That would be the easiest way to deal with the situation. I believe in the end that is what we will do. We are giving this guy another 24 hrs to man up.

Something is up with their phones so I just went there. Eric and the other guy are out front when I walk up. Just a nod and wave so I walk on in. No one in the store then the guy followed me in.
"So, I suppose you are here about your shotgun?"
Me, "Yup, is Clint around?"
Him, "No, he's out of town for the next several days. Uh, he said that he should be the one that deals with you. Hang on a sec, let me get his number." Then he walked back outside to speak with Eric.
When he came back in he said "Here, this is Clint's number."
Then Eric and a different girl come inside as well.

I call Clint, he said he spoke with my Gunsmith and they decided to handle it between them and just get it fixed. No muss, no fuss. I'm suprised. Then I ask when he plans of finalizing the details with David. He said he's in classroom/training all day but will try and call him while on breaks.
Bear in mind, Clint was supposed to call me on Friday but never did. He was supposed to get back with David but hasn't yet. He's had the gun 6 days.

I decided to give him 24 more hours to call David and make arrangements. If I don't hear confirmation from David by 3pm eastern time Wednesday, I'm going to get it and be done with it.

I have a pretty good feeling he's just working it so he can say "Hey, I was going to fix it but you just couldn't wait."

We'll see.

Clint is bad about getting back to folks in a timely manner, but I suspect he will make this right. I've had to hound him about guns I knew had been delivered. But that was when he was home-based, so I understood he couldn't always be there to wait for folks to come get their guns. At that time he charged $10 for a transfer and said $10 gets me bare minimum service. I can live with that.

I think your feelings are correct. All he needed to do is make a phone call or send an email to get it done. These days we can communicate 24/7. No excuse for this to drag on like this. PM me his cell number Don......I'll give him one more chance tomorrow.

Well no word from Clint so I went there to get my gun. I walked in the the younger guy is there and asked how he could help. I said I'm here to get my shotgun.
He said "But I got an email from Clint telling me to ship it back to the gunsmith".
I paused a few secs...
He added "Here, let me read it to you. 'Send the f'n shotgun back to the gunsmith and include a check for $100'. Do you want to take it with you or should I send it back?"

So, it appears Clint is proceeding with the offer from David. I should be getting a tracking number tomorrow.

Again, we'll see.
