New Rolling Stones song

I just heard a clip of "Doom and Gloom" on the radio - Mick and the boys sound like they still have it! Anyone else heard it yet? Opinions?

Good tune. I like it. And the animation is sweet. Very nicely done.

Mick coulda phoned this one in..the lyrics are predictable. And the instrumentation is polished to the bone...Two thumbs down...

Or maybe it is the 1/2 Bill that Mick is sittin on....

Meh.

Jagger peaked right here. With this brilliance, there was no where left to go but down from here:

I hear the album has some remasters of some of the most popular tunes. These remakes reflect the times today.

You Can't Always ***** When You Want

Brown Ensure

Sympathy for the Diaper Changer

Midnight Mumbler

Hey You Get Off My Lawn

I like it.

You try writing and singing any song and let us critique it.

Actually never mind I don't want to heat it.

"The single will be part of the forthcoming Greatest Hits compilation GRRR!, which comes out Nov. 13. The song is arguably one of the only reasons to purchase yet another greatest hits disc by the Stones, and if you already own a copy of Forty Licks (as you should), then simply get the song on its own via iTunes.

How does it sound? While some have said it’s the best new Stones song since 1981′s Start Me Up, it’s definitely more of a grower. All the elements are there: Mick Jagger’s swagger, Keith Richards’ unpredictable licks and that always sturdy rhythmic backbone. The theme is also timely, recalling Paint It Black: The world is insane, but love saves the day. That kinda thing." Vancouver Sun

Certainly a throw-back song musically . . . but good.

The absolute PEAK of the Stones career was the 69 Tour Of The Americas...culminating at Alta Mont. After that they stopped being Artistes and became entertainers eventually becoming the latest incarnation of a Beach Boys playing the old hits band. It is only for the money and they love it.

Looks like the boys still have some gas in the tank. Classic Stones vibe and sobering lyrics. Good job guys!

Wrong.

Some Girls was groundbreaking in many ways, Exile on Main Street has become one of the best albums in rock and roll, (after 20 years of gestation), Tattoo You has a lot of great music that holds up incredibly well to this day, even Voodoo Lounge is a good album to have in rotation - and for someone who uses a lyric from an iconic song as his tagline and who compares the author of that lyric to the beach boys makes me think that that person is a poseur, not a connoisseur.

Sorry, that's just the way I see it.

PS; Altamont, not Alta Mont

I like it. A lot. Undeniably the Stones, but feels more fresh than other recent stuff.

'69 may have been a "purist" marker, but Some Girls is arguably the high point and served as the inflection point in their career.
