Thanksgiving in San Antonio

Will be heading west to San Antonio for thanksgiving. My son is at Ft Sam Houston. Looking for recommendations from locals for places to go for lunch that day. Any suggestions??

Used to go to Junction for Thanksgiving. Really, really nice wild game dinner on Saturday. Of course, that is a few hours west in I-10.

Annual Kimble County Wild Game Dinner @ Junction, TX - Hill Country Events Calendar - Hill Country Current

Get tickets for the raffle (people spend $100 or more on tickets) and possibly take home some interesting things!

Go to Berne, find a nice local Mexican/Texican restaurant, Convict Hill in Austin, out to Fredricksburg for some good fine dining, spend Saturday night in Luckenbach, too many possibilities. But I have not been there in more than 10 years....

Is he in a AIT training company or is he stationed there full time?

I have had Canadian Thanksgiving in San Antonio 2 years in a row now.

Last year we went to Ruth's Chris, it was OK.

This year it was Fogu du Choi.

To be honest, if you want steak, I think morton's in the River Center is a great bet.

Brazillian/Chinese steakhouse? Sorry....

But I agree, Fogo de Chao is a great place. It is about 7 miles/15 minutes from Ft. Sam Houston.

What's matter? You don't want to live in Texas City or Pasadena?

Is the RED BARN steakhouse still there? Not been to San Antonio since '92 though.

My inlaws live in Boerne and we'll be there for thanksgiving. Come on over! There are so many great places to eat in the area, that it really depends on what kind of food you want. Give me some guidance and I'll post a list of options. I would love to move to SA. One of these days...
