Help! Lost Audi Key and Locked Out

My son lost the key to his 2001 A4 and car is locked. Is going to the dealership my only option? Thanks a bunch!

The Dealership is your only option, you will need the VIN, the dealer can have a new key cut by VAG, it takes 2-5 days. Be thankful it isn't a newer one, they can be as much as $300.00 or more EACH.

Thank you. I guess I'll need to get a locksmith to open first then a tow to the dealership?

You can probably get the key made without taking the car in. Call the dealer in the AM and ask.

AAA has lost key coverage...so if anyone in the family has a membership.

This. You need the VIN. He might need to call AAA just so he can get in the car and get the paperwork. They will ask for ID.
