For those who choose to remain in harm's way.....
I think it should be a new policy that if people choose to remain in an area that is a mandatory evacuation zone they are on their own. It amazes me that we are losing lives of the rescuers who try to save these people. This is what is often referred to as a "thinning of the herd" to my mind. If you make a poor decision you pay! Why should others continue to pay for these decisions?

I agree Dennis, but that just isn't they way Americans are made. It is our natural instinct to rescue those in need. Whether or not they deserve it.

I also agree, but again, we help. Even those we may not agree with.

if you go out and get lost in the mount hood national forest without picking up a free emergency tracking beacon and need to have search and rescue come and get you; you pay the rescue fee-
