Is it my imagination, or did Vash leave himself off the list?

Hey, was trying to keep it a secret! Problem is that she is smart enough not to sit on my lap!

Vash 2012 Gift organization...

Quote:

OK..i am not organized like my predecessors (or have a secretary) ..if i do this, i will require more time. i'll need to start earlier, like now. i'll use the time to create a random number generator ..like a coffee can with all of our names in it.. hard cutoff date of 12/2/12!! on the 3rd..you're dead to me. let's see how this goes (or dont go)..if it gets huge..i might have a number of participants limit..

Any takers? i am so lazy..i will just cut/paste Jim's rules from last year (with minor changes and addendum).

1. PM me your Name + shipping address and PP handle.

2. You will receive a PM from me forwarding a name/address. This is who you will send your gift to. I will post on this thread when all PM's have been sent. If you haven't received a PM once I announce they've all gone out, post here and I will resend it.

3. Keep the postage/shipping to a nominal cost...say under $8-10. USPS has a flat rate box anywhere in CONUS for around $8 regardless of weight if it fits in their box. This rule does not apply if someone wants to ship ME something wildly exotic and expensive. like anything vintage..shotguns included..car's? i'll cover shipping.

4. YOU CANNOT BUY THE GIFT YOU SEND. Has to be something you already have and don't mind parting with. If sending used articles of clothing, GOD man....have the decency to wash them first. i think it would be especially thoughtful to send anyone doing the PPOT weight loss challenge delicious fatty food like cake and cookies..and bacon. bacons good.

5. Gifts can be serious, funny, thoughtful, appropriate, Porsche related, non-Porsche related, specific for the recipient, indicative of the giver's taste, whatever. for example..to someone on the weight loss program..your jane fonda workout video would work..see what i did? Please poke holes in any boxes containing live animals. nothing festive about dead animals. it is your decision to alert the person you are sending the gift to who you are..or make it a surprise.

6. Mail the gift in time for Christmas. Once you receive your gift, try not to open it right away...save it for Xmas. Don't peek. we seem to take liberties with this rule..if you peek, sure as eff dont post about it until Christmas..you can pretend to be surprised.

7. Let's start a thread after Xmas to share pics, comments, etc of what you received. And laugh. And OOOOOH and AHHHHHH. And bust each other's chops (i.e., "the Mikez 'der Douche Nozzle' rule."). I mean, c'mon, what else do we have to do in the week before New Year's.

8. There will be snafus and glitches. Schit lost in the mail. Broken schit. Keep it in perspective. If somebody doesn't send a gift, feel free to ridicule and humiliate them on the board throughout the coming year. This is supposed to be fun and stress free...let's keep it in that perspective. Let's make it work (i.e., the "sammyg2 anti-cynic rule").

9. if your sending a gift for Kwanzaa, please include an explanation that answers the ubiquitous annual question asked at every holiday dinner table, "what the heck is Kwanzaa?"

10. somebody, anybody, please alert Tweezer about this gift exchange so we dont have to read about her saying, "ahhh damn!, why didnt anyone tell me about this?..oh well, next year"

11. sorry if you get someone you have gotten before. it will be random..luck of the draw. i am not looking back at past list. bonus if you hate the person you get..pay them back with the gift.

Try not to clog this thread up with a buncha comments...if you must, post in the original party thread. go ahead. my inbox is purged...PM away!. these rules are subject to change at my whim..ha!

This is truly worthy of being reposted. Feel free to take tips from Vash's gift org. It is a highly entertaining read. First time I have read it and I admit I have broken the rules and bought some token gifts. Pics of opened gifts are encouraged and waiting till Christmas to open gifts is also encouraged.

PPOT 2014 Gift Exchange closes tomorrow. Really! PM me if you want to enrol.
Cheers, Guy
PS Two basic rules. Mail gift early and send a gift!
