I worked my way through college (1980s) in an old hardware store infested with mice and occasional roof rats. We'd catch the rats in live cage traps and then dump them into a garbage can filled half-full of water. Those rats were mean SOBs. We would let the mice go in front of the paint store three doors up and the paint store owner later came in and bought mouse traps! Oh the laffs we had.

I catch a lot of mice in the barn 20-30 + dispite having two full time mousers.

They are lazy and old

These are Corn fed Indiana mice caught by a friend.

They look like small dogs. Dam !

You have more than one. Keep the traps baited.
We have rats (big ones) that are fence runners and tree climbers.
My dog identifies the tree with the rat. I have a crossman pump with a laser.
Sometimes the rat doesn't even hit the ground before the dog snatches it as it is falling.
Don't make the same mistake I made years ago with those critters in the attic...
I used decon and got a rat that went down the wall and died.
Stunk up the house for a week until it dried up.

I am not big on killing stuff but mice and rats cause a lot of damage. They gotta go!

It's been awhile since my last update... I just caught this little guy this morning. I know there is at least one more. These things sure make a lot of noise!
