Yeah yer right, comments like that are almost too stupid to respond to. Guess the joke's on me though. I've gone hunting with a gun hundreds of times over my lifetime, and to think I was miss-using those guns the whole time by trying to shoot game with them. What the heck was I thinking? |

We can still have spoons, but we have to fill out some forms and pay a fee to get them and we have to wait for 10 days to get the spoon (could be an effective diet, who knows) and we can only buy really small spoons? Dunno about you but it all sounds a bit silly if you ask me. ![]() Wouldn't it make more sense to rely on personal responsibility for people to stop eating when they get full, or at least rely on personal freedom that says a person has the right to get fat (on food their earn) if they want to? That would be more in line with what made this the greatest country in history...... |

The reports that I read from the CT shooting stated that he had a Sig and Glock pistol that he used for the murders. An AR15 was found in his car but not used.

Ruger and S&W stock took a tumble today as well I've heard. We have had a full parking lot every hour of the day at the shop. Black guns are flying out the door. We have one person the just calls BATFE all day now. My question is what if they do ban them, which of course they will. Will there be a buy back from the Govt.? Or will they grandfather the existing ones in? Worst case scenario they ban them and make them ALL illegal and you have X number of months to turn them in or face a fine and possible prison? Anybody have any ideas?

In 2009 in VA gun deaths just slightly beat out auto deaths (about 10/100,000). If you actually think about all the people in all the cars every day for a year, and more people died due to guns, that is pretty staggering.

Most black guns here fall into "restricted". Which means they are treated the same as handguns. You can own as many as you want, as many Canadians do, but you are restricted as to what you can use them for. And that primary use being trips to the range and back..nothng else. 5 round magazines is the maximum. Hanguns with barrel lengths under 105mm are prohibited. Then we have all of the other guns. Shotguns, long rifles, etc. There are no restrictions on those and you can use them for anything. That's how we do it here.

Weapons are made to save lives from the terrible acts of those that are inclined to evil. Not knowing that is stupid, really stupid.

Saying that they are not is spin. Guns don't care if you point them at an assailant or a 4 year old. That would be fresh in many people's minds right now. You are saying the YOU would use a gun to save people from harm. But you are also saying that you would be willing to kill under the right circumstances. Using poor logic and then saying that anyone who doesn't understand your logic as fact is worse than stupid. And you are not a stupid person. I am not saying that you should not be able to have guns. |

How can you consider recent events and think that? Not a single person in that school was saved by a weapon, 26 were killed by them.

That's what the Bushmaster is designed for. Once you own it you could use it for a doorstop if you want to, but they designed and manufactured to be killing machines.

Not true. The killer shot himself and saved a lot of other children with that one shot. He only shot himself when some very brave men entered the building and started looking for him.

If the next ban is just a revival of the last one, it only means they'll have to stop making flash suppressors, but the rest of the rifle features can remain identical. Doesn't seem like that's going to put anyone out of business to me. The last AWB defined assault weapons by cosmetic features only.

Not a single person in that school was allowed to have a gun, therefore they did not have the opportunity to save anyone. Noodle through that for a moment.......

As far as stupid, I was commenting on the use of the word by another person who seems to live in the total land of rainbows and unicorns. I can tell you this, it would be no problem to pull the trigger on another human being in the HORROR that occurred last friday. My only concern is that I would have the balls to stand up to him and not be overcome with the fear.

Good God man, tell me if there was a "good guy" that could have even slowed the turd down I would bet it would have saved at least one child or staff member. That is the simple truth. And I have seen it FIRST hand before. You do not solve it by further tying the hands of good men and women who might, just might be able to act when it counts.
