about to order this gun safe. whatchathink?

yesterday, some people kicked in my brother's front door and made off with 3 pistols , a SXS shotgun..and a HK full auto.

he has a gun safe but the particular pieces were out for cleaning.

what does this mean for me? means my woefully secured home will be needing a safe. i think i am going to go this route. i am going to brace up my flooring alittle bit, because loading slightly exceeds the standard live loading (empty). will round up some friends to help me move it. i actually keep most of my stuff in a friends huge safe.

i like it cuz it is USA made.

If you have the room, I'd bump it up to the Revere 30. Gives you a reason to aquire more spoons Safes fill up quick. Another thing to do when you get it is run some rope lights around the interior of the door, works great so you can see in there.

".......and a HK full auto."

I'm curious as to how his conversation with the ATFE went when he told them it's missing.
Get the heaviest safe you can afford.

Humidity may become an issue.

If you are looking at remodeling, can you include a closet that you can secure? Make a mini gun room...

400 lbs is pretty heavy for carry out. I have my gun cab bolted to the floor and wall but it is not a safe. just a steel cabinet

Check with your local dealer. You may be able to get a deal on last years model. Bolt it to the floor and get DampRid for the humidity.

I have a liberty franklin, and I am very pleased. Make sure you get an outlet kit. For humidity, I use a plug-in dehumidiying rod, and for lights, those battery-powered "stick up" lights.

As previously noted...BUY BIGGER..over time you will filler up.

Also figure the value of what your going to put in there and the potential value of stuff in the future.

I really don't know anything about safes.

1st thing is that any safe can be defeated. I've missed some good deals on used tl15 and 30's due to cashflow.

If I was buying a NEW safe I would look at Gun Safes : Fire Safe Manufacturer : Sturdy Gun Safe

They do have a great product and yes, built here in the states. Please watch his vidios. I will upgrade my amsec to a sturdy when I can.

2nd, a safe is only part of the plan. You need to keep it out of site from anyone that comes into your home. You also need to make sure that they can not cart it of somewhere else to open it. Mine is bolted into my homes 1 1/2" tounge and grove flooring with 1/2" lag bolts. It's stuck into a corner to prevent pry attacks on the door seams plus to deny 3 sides to fire and attack. next it's in a closet so that it's harder to work tools around. When my safe door opens it sends an alert to my cell as well.

Most of us have worked with metal. we know what it takes to bend, cut and rip apart things. Most safes are too weak!

You will put more than guns in it like wedding pictures & and family movies and paperwork, they fill up fast.

Or you can order the model which is wired for a heater to prevent moisture issues. I use DAMP RID in all of my safes.

You MUST bolt it to concrete!!!
