My Step Dad died last night.
He was a hell of a man you guys. He was tough, honest, and he treated my mother like gold. More of a father to me than my own father. I just booked a flight to Omaha to be with my mom.... I know I am not the most popular poster on this board but I am asking for some prayers, please. My mother is in bad shape right now and I am worried about her.
It was sudden. I guess he drank some medicine because he had a colonoscopy coming up. He broke out in a cold sweat and passed out. My mother was on the phone with 911 and he died en route to the hospital. He was 60 years old. It is a cruel, cruel world you guys.

My best to you and your mom. I am sure this Christams will be especially hard for her. I am sure your mother will get strenght and comfort by your being there.

I suck at being a step-dad. It can be very difficult and demanding. Yours must have been quite a remarkable man to have made such an impression. Godspeed to him and prayers for your mom and you.

My Dad died this same day in 1989. I know how you feel. There is an emptiness that will never be filled. Be with your mom. Talk about what a good man he was. Talk about things that made you laugh. Prayers out to you and your mom.
